Yep, too many new players at once, many of whom haven't played in the premier league before. The first choice XI at Xmas will probably be quite different to the XI today.

All the more reason to hate the transfer window system and the comical administration of the game. If you paid through the nose for a theatre ticket only to find that the full cast would not be on stage for some time because some of them had only just been employed and hadn't had a chance to learn their lines, let alone properly understand their character, you'd probably demand a refund.

Not in football.

Anyway, 1-1 today. Nketiah to get one, pulling himself level with an Italian goalkeeper from Manchester as our top scorer.
 
So the novelty pre-season with points at stake continues.......... This time however it's a fixture we could reasonably have hoped to take something from. Still, both sides are in much the same boat so who knows? 1-1?
 
I used to have a football game as a kid that had a dice with various numbers on it which gave you the score of the match . Cant remember what it was all about I just remember the dice

We had similar dice but they were colour coded defence, midfield, attack etc, and they said things like "pass to another midfielder" or "Wickham mis-controls the ball" (it might not have said that). You had to try to roll the dice through each position and then see if you scored. Now everyone wants to be Lionel Messi on FIFA. Sad times.

It didn't mention Wickham. He was almost certainly injured.

... Saying this though... I'd be even happier if we get a win by any means possible. Getting 3 points for a new manager is key just to build belief - Fulham will also be thinking the same.

Well I got the Nketiah and JSL dropped part right. Didn't see the Timber start coming... Hopefully that'll help us get a bit more control in midfield. Good to see Doucoure back on the bench 🙂 Guessand I imagine is starting to question his loan move...as possibly are we.

I like the lineup, hopefully it makes us a bit more solid with a bit more control. Fingers the new boys can impress and it'll give a good buzz to get the season going.

Definitely more energy supporting the high press Sage apparently likes to play. The front three does look extremely lightweight and physically under powered though. I’m not at all sure Nketiah can play up top as a lone front man.

I know what you mean about Nketiah but he has at least looked lively. Whereas when JSL has played that role he hasn't exactly impressed.

Will Pino and Kamada play more narrow than the usual wingers and therefore support Nketiah more centrally?

Who knows? Pino's current MO is to pass to no one at all and start opposition counter attacks. Kamada up top - maybe he'll score just to prove me wrong. But I'll go out on a limb here and say he's not likely to score or assist. Given his figures for us.
Nketiah centrally, I think we can guarantee murdering at least two clear chances. He always has a shot from five yards out, straight at the keeper. I'll bet on that being within the first 15 minutes, just to annoy us more.
 
Can't see anyone in the team scoring, so best to hope for is 0-0.

We're going to have a resounding win to finally kick our season off and quieten the naysayers.
A 2-0 win to us, at least, but heart/dream says 4-0!
