Lived in enemy territory since 2025. I was playing padel at the Withdean this week. Question for those with a decent memory, did we ever play Brighton at the Withdean or were they too far adrift in the lower leagues?

Withdean is now a sporting complex as opposed to a stadium as the stand(s) have been removed.

I've lived down here since 1978. Went to the Palace game at the Withdean having done my achilles so was in a plaster cast. You could choose what colour cast you wanted so I naturally went for red and blue. The only tickets I could get were for the front row in the home end (I took my 3 young kids with me) so we're sitting there, me in my red and blue cast, in a line and I said to the kids if Palace scored we had to knock our knees together along the line rather than shout out. After Dougie's first, one of my daughters whispered "I think we've been rumbled Dad".

When McAnuff's injury time winner went in the temporary stand we were in nearly collapsed from the violent shaking coming from the front row.

I've also been the only person seated in the stadium during a testimonial between Brighton and Charlton when both sets of supporters have been singing stand up if you hate Palace.

Very weird atmosphere for the Mcanuff last minute game.

Seemed quite surreal being out in a suburban area, but then having the police on full alert with cameras in faces etc.

Also odd atmosphere in ground, lots of space between us being the goal and the weed on the sides, they looked pretty lively but we couldn't hear a thing !
