Sage is sage

At the end of the day, Glasner won us three trophies and I as a palace fan for 52 years since the age of 10 having been through decades of pain, am delighted about that. However, as you say Glasner had a certain ability to throw his toys out of the pram and I really think that harms the team, the spirit of the team too. Hopefully Sage will be successful. In the first place avoiding relegation, everything else is a bonus this season.

No Manager getting their first crack at the Prem is going to condemn the Board this early. Glasner also had Guehi, Olisse and Eze when he first walked into the Club.

If Sage struggles and starts looking like De Boer, he’ll keep his head down. If he gets us a top 8 finish and a Europa league final and next summer Parish immediately sells Wharton (he will), I bet his responses are a lot less tame and structured.

I take your point but ultimately I will judge him on his results. Very early days but they aren’t very good so far. We were easily beaten by Man City and Everton. The next three games will be key for us and probably for him.

Yeah, but there's no way he doesn't know that it's unlikely Wharton will be here next year. Both Adam and his agent have said as much and I don't think there's a lot Parish can do about it.

Given how much the media bang on about it, I doubt there's anyone on the planet who doesn't know.

I was a tad critical of Pierre (note I'm now using his first name) in his early days here. He seemed somewhat dull and unexciting in his interviews. I was not sure his manner would be motivational.

After yesterday's game, seeing his post match interviews I am now onside with him. He is not afraid to mention what he perceived as weaknesses in the team and, unusually, he sympathised with Fulham. He also shows a subtle sense of humour and, considering he's not speaking his native language, I'm sure that will develop. He clearly said the right things to the team at half time too.

Well done Pierre and thanks for helping to win us our first match of the season. The first of many we hope. And we're above Forest and Spurs in the table.

We should have been well ahead against Everton. We seem to be creating a lot more chances than under Glasner (but not as tight at the back), I genuinely feel we've got someone who could become a legend....but at the same time he could quite easily jump ship at the earliest opportunity.

Like you say the next few games are crucial and it's exciting to see. Typically palace we could easily be smashing the europa league and in the top 6 at the end of Sep...or sitting at the bottom of both and out the league cup against Boro...either way im confident he'll make it work (look when he did with Lens & Edouard...i get its a different league, but they still have quality over there)!
