Ismaïla Sarr

Great news,I think not.
An unsettled Sarr and left with JP,the wantaway!!

I've no problem with keeping jp for another year. Yes, he is a big baby but he makes himself available to play and his attitude was good after he didn't get his move in january and scored some important goals.

and most importantly, he's better than the other rubbish we've got up top!!

For a short period

Then professional footballers self interest kicks in and they realise if they don't play, or play poorly then there is no chance Liverpool or any other club their ego demands will be interested next summer

Mateta did come good again after his January sulky shenanigans

The problem for Mateta is that he's only got the January window to go before he's 30 which for a striker still tends to be a cut-off age for big transfers. If he has an electric few months someone might be tempted but he'd need to miss a hell of a lot less chances for that to happen.
He's our level of striker and we are his - we're not likely to sign Haaland or Mbappe.

If either or both of Sarr and/or Mateta are still here tomorrow morning then I expect both will soon be fit to play (miraculously) and will be picked, seeing as all our other forwards are hopeless. One or other player will receive a smattering of boos when introduced from the bench, then they'll get on with their jobs, then we will forget all about it, and life will continue.

Yes. I for one will not join in on any booing which has no point, its football not Punch & Judy

A few hours to go - but in the moneyball era many will be tempted by Mateta's profile to take a look - but when the data analysts show their boss his goals scored vs xG they are going to be a lot less interested

And as you say age is not on his side

Only option - bang them in for Palace

Looked like they only came for him after having 2 bids for Mitoma knocked back.

They might not have even wanted him at all, just a tactic to soften Brighton's asking price.

Regardless. Salah was released months ago. They have had about 5 months to plan for that RW position.

Now we have a player who wants to leave, because their agent has been causing trouble. And he would have been telling Sarr that we are being unreasonable and blocking his dream move.
I think it was Minteh they were after rather than Mitoma but Brighton slapped an £80m price tag on him which scared them off.

No ,something is worth what someone else is prepared to pay for it.
If you put something up for 50 quid (what you think it’s worth) and it sells for 40. It was worth 40.
Nope. If it’s worth $50 and no one wants to meet the asking price, then you don’t sell it as they haven’t matched the asking price. Something’s worth isn’t dictated by another’s ability to see it or pay it.

No can probably afford $80M for Sarr right now - doesn’t mean he’s not with that.

I take your point but something’s worth is quite literally what somebody is willing to pay for it.

Just my opinion of course but i would rather the pair of ungrateful bastards would f*** off out of our club and get in someone who wants to play for us. If it wasnt for Palace they would be unheard of .

Hands up who really knows what's gone on , did I hear that he closed his accounts , maybe some idiots was giving him verbal abuse , its all bits and pieces news , Sage said groin injury but thats been forgotten , is it because its doesn't fit for what people want to think

The fact he's erased all images & references to him being a Palace player says everything. Imagine he's gonna sulk for the rest of the season

Being overly generous he's probably thinking, or been told by his idiot of an agent, that he's more important to us than we are to him. If Sosa goes we could give him a slice of the wages saved and tell him to get on with it because at the moment we really do need him. By 11 pm that might not be as much the case though.

Rumours of interest, he suddenly suffers a minor injury that isn't big enough to prevent a move. His agent puts out public messages essentially saying he should be allowed to leave. Sarr deletes all references to Palace from his socials. It's pretty damning.

He himself hasn't said anything publicly, so if he stays, pulls his socks up, and gets on with it, then I doubt most fans will care.

If he does go down the route of sulking all season and his performances show as much then my opinion of him will have dropped drastically. I'm not pleased but ok with wanting to urge one big last move, especially if there's things we could never possibly know about going on in the background, but to do so in such a way that tarnishes the relationship between the man, club and fans is naive. I would have expected a better sense of decorum from a 28 year old professional.

If you think it's worth $50 and no-one meets the asking price, it's distinctly possible that you have overestimated its worth. The market is usually the best indicator.
