Main Stand redevelopment thread

You can see the stake is shares each person has.

A man who only has 10% is not going to be in charge are they when the rest of them have 25% or say 40%.

He has his current position because the others allow it.
He has his current position because the current investors agreed to these terms when the came on board. None of them can be bothered with the day to day running of the club. Parish having the power he has is the price they pay for him doing all the heavy lifting as it were

I think you are both right. Harris Blitzer and Johnson do not have day to day control of the club. They are happy to cede that to Parish in return Parish gets a wage and a bigger say in voting rights.

Parish has a huge say in the club simply because the others trust him. However if they wanted to it would probably only take 2 of them to push him out of his role as chairman.

It says a lot about him that when Textor tried to throw his weight around regarding transfers he got nowhere. I think it i safe to assume that the others backed Parish over him.
Correct, Steve is the managing owner. It is very common for US owners to provide financial backing for their teams and then let someone else do the day-to-day running of the club while they focus on their other business endeavors. For example, Woody decided last week to buy into Aston Martin's Formula 1. Stroll will keep control of Aston Martin team like Parrish does for Palace.

Apologies if discussed elsewhere, but I usually enjoy a pint or two in the Fan Zone if weather is ok. I believe it is no longer present due to redevelopment. Has it been relocated?

Thanks.

In some of the blurb the fan zone was going to be situated on the corner where the Holmesdale meets the AW - in place of that TV studio thingy - no idea if that's actually where it has landed , I'm looking forward to Friday evening to see how things look

Hopefully that's the case. Will check it out too!
Thanks for the reply.

Yes be good to know, I don't usually drink but will need a pint or two to steady me nerves on Friday 😳😄

can you still walk round down the holmesdale and do a right to the main stand?
Or have to go park rd/whitehorse lane ?
At the moment, no.

But I imagine they will open that up before the game. The gates have been shut all summer and they're open now at least.

Thankfully, it will still be light before the game and we will be able to view what is going on.
I assume there will be different access opportunities for matchday and non matchday days.
There will be access from the new 1961 Lounge to the existing main stand. The notes on the 1861 lounge mention say it will be available for three years.

I cannot make it tonight. I request a detailed report on progress of the new stand from those who will be there, please. By which I mean a series of photos, plans, measurements, an artists impression, that kind of thing. Ta muchly.

Palace have already got one of those. Should be available next year.

So two of the affordable houses have now gone. There is a bare patch of land where they were. No signs of much else. I will be amazed if there is any movement this year. Looks like our board have little to no plans to invest in anything of any great significance.

I doubt it works like that. The construction company wont want to work under stop/start conditions at the whim of the customer. Once they have been given the go ahead to start thats it. Its on them to get the job done as quickly, efficiently and on budget as possible. The only role the owners play is to pay the monthly invoices.
