Honest Ahanor

Like Brighton, we are becoming a feeder club for Chelsea. We need to stop this s***.
So we pick up a seemingly good CB without having to pay 40 mill plus .

Covers Chadi for this season and gives time for JD to develop and for us to work out how much capacity Tomi has .

That frees up the 30 mill we would have spent on another CB on an upgraded CM which we need or also extra to invest on an attacker if Mateta and or Sarr leave .

Would be nice to spend 40 plus on a player we don’t need , just as Chelsea have done , but we can’t .

The more I think about it , the more sense it makes .

Seems like were loaning him from Atalanta and Chelsk are buying him next season...doesnt sound suspicious at all does it...
UEFA has already set its sights on Palace and Chelsea.

If we are paying Chelsea anything we could definitely be in trouble and if we are not why would Chelsea do it. Under normal circumstances they would expect a loan fee and this could certainly be seen as bending the rules

Marinakis will no doubt have already brought it to their attention.

So our defence will be a garden of Chelsea players who we will help succeed rather than our own for any future gain/experience. Got it....
Just an agent for bigger teams.

Must be a nightmare planning for a season, budgeting for the players you need to then have 2 go on strike and another does his ACL.

I can't say I like this type of deal as yet again we are a feeder club for Chelsea.

That said I think we are in trouble so the cub needs to do whatever to get players in.

Now we need to hold onto Sarr (until January at least) and get a bloody midfielder in.

Maybe because it keeps him off Chelsea's books so doesn't impact their finances for this year, whilst at the same time they have their man.

I doubt we are paying Chelsea anything I think we must be paying the selling club but that is normal.

Chelsea dont want/need him this season. This way they get him next season with a year of EPL experience. As well as some of the 'soft' benefits, settled in London, better grasp of English etc.

Have they? It’s a good way for Chelsea to get him prepared for PL. We have loaned from Atalanta, although Chelsea would have been involved. Is very strange but no worse than others deals being done by clubs this window

The only lens I like it through is that next year we very likely won't have European football so won't need as big a squad so we can get by on loans.

Also that it's impossible for our loan signings to be less committed to the club than some of our supposed stars...
Has anyone even heard of him before this news?
I know I haven't.

One of the best CBs out there 👍
He is 18 .
If he is one of the best out there he must be one of the best CB's in history especially when his profile says he is a left back that can play as a central defender

Regardless we must be really desperate if we are doing these sort of deals ,where does it leave us in 12 months when the loans and sort term contracts have passed ?

It leaves us with a back three of Canvot, Richards and a limping Riad , thats where it leaves us
