Just re-stating what you have already said doesn't make it right. I gave you a list of players that we have bought while in the Prem and made very good profit on. Who are these Mediocre players you are referring to, whose purchase has "hurt" us.

In general the recruitment has not been great since Lacroix came in to replace Andersen. My silicon overlord is telling me:

Thanks for the list of 20 players but it doesn't answer the question I asked PV. I would still like him to answer. Your list should at least help with the choice. I was going to give him BJ and JSL as a starter but my questioning still stands.

Like most on here , I have been supporting Palace for many years (55)
I have seen the highs and lows,I believe we have now conquered our Everest( three trophies!!!!)

You could argue that but it would be a very weak argument as five of them are on a free or loan and included in the list are the back up goalkeeper. There are 3 players that are considered prospects and I would argue doing well, Canvot being one and while Esse has struggled we could still make a profit or break even on him. Furthermore, six of those players have only just come to the club.

These are just regular signings, the kind that any club makes. to argue that the Premiership is hurting the club financially because we have made signings is just ridiculous. We have made significant profits from many players over a sustained period and could make more from many on the list...

I also note that those who actually replied to the question I asked are not the person who posted the comment. Still I will leave it there as this is just getting a bit pointless.

The fact remains being in the Prem is not having a negative impact on the club as opposed to being in the Championship and to argue that is just silly.

If you want a further indication of the madness of the Premier League, Forest have bid £40 million for 19 year old midfielder Armstrong from Everton , who I doubt too many on here have even heard of.

I suppose Forest may think they have got him on the cheap as Man City paid £85 million for their teenage midfielder!

I'm not sure where this ends, perhaps like the West End theatre where tickets can cost in excess of £100.

I don't think the poster is bed wetting, just having a bit of lighthearted speculation about some things that might better in the Championship.

I wasn't bothered about being in the champ... I enjoyed youth players coming through.. I enjoyed seeing prem loanees coming in.

I dot think it's very easy to get trapped into thinking the prem is the be all and end all.

I really wished we stayed at a level that didn't break the bank... hot take but if I was a chairman I wouldn't break the bank.. I would aim for being 15th each season, get a youth academy set up and running. Yeah, it's not pretty, but with that rationale, you take things as they come. Then, once you have that, only then you can push forward.

I, like Willo (and most older fans) often predict the demise of Palace and expect relegation every season. This season may be the one! But if it comes to pass that we drop through the trap door, I’m not sure that I would be that bothered.
There are two obvious downsides to relegation. All your best players want to leave. Nothing new there then, regardless of what division we are in.
You lose the financial benefits. But you get parachute payments for 3 years.

However there are also some positives to relegation.
There are 3 extra home games in the Championship. (That might not be a positive to some)
There is NO VAR in the championship. (I can celebrate goals again)
You play real teams and not ones that should only exist on fantasy football.
We will see proper away fans again, and not all the plastic ones that follow the big boys.
(What made Leipzig so great was that the Rayo Vallecano fans were proper fans and made for a great atmosphere)
We might win more than 3 home games in a season
Not likely to play on a Thursday, Friday night or a Sunday lunch time. (I miss 3pm Saturday kick offs)
Less tourists.
Some of our newer “fans” may decide that the turmoils of Palace isn't for them. A true fan will keep the faith no matter what hardships we face.

I’m sure there are some other benefits, so apart from the initial embarrassment of relegation. I won’t be that upset.
