We get in to Europe again with a decent team then we sell our best CB who still had a decent contract ,players seem unhappy and want to leave will sell some good promising young players and buy very average players ,we swap BJ with a worse player with massive loss of money ,HF call it a day like them or not they did bring the atmosphere to the ground.
What the hell is Parish and co playing at no wonder OG never renewed his contract he knew what was coming !

Totally agree. Both games were always going to be tough ones to get anything from. Had JP taken his sleeping mask off it would have been a different story against Everton. With him and Sarr last night we may have got a result. The signings we've made are good ones. Half the players against City aren't fully up to speed yet and haven't played together and are from different leagues. Several debuts and Sage trying to find his best eleven. Looked good in places against a multi multi million side. Once he starts with the CBs in the right positions ie Richards not in the centre, Disasi in the centre and Canvot on the other side, which he put right later on, and we hopefully add another CF and MF and the new lads bed in, we'll have a pretty decent squad. So many gloom and doom merchants as usual. It's 2 games FFS, both difficult ones. He's a good manager.Yep agree Mr Palaceman "give it a chance"

I for one moan about our recruitment yet it’s brought us some young players that’s been developed & sold on for big money & further sell ons that’s investment right there

It’s got us 3 trophies unreal with low spend but good coaching - so investment in back room staffed has worked to a degree

Yet our aim has to be a KPI of top 10 finish as an aim & getting out of our round in Europa ( better than the Fat git )

Yet we all know Johnson was a diabolical panic buy at huge expenditure
Also JSL I just hope he gets better & double figures for what was spent

Will we be the lowest spend in summer window again ?
Will we duck it and see then panic buy in Jan ?

If yes then kind of let down - when really Parish aim must be top 10 has to be

Before the season started I was saying "let's take these two inevitable defeats on the chin and go from there".

Does that mean I think we are suddenly going to rocket up the league? Nope. But it means I am going to wait a few more weeks before soiling myself voluntarily.

I don’t blame Sage at all. Poor bloke must wonder what on earth he’s let himself in for. I’m sure he’s a good manager who will get us up to our default position mid table.
Unfortunately it can never be higher than that all the time that the FA and the media pander to the big 6.
It’s the system that needs changing, and we all know that will never happen.
Until we work towards a more level playing field the big guys will continue getting bigger to the clear detriment of the also rans.
The only way to start mending the broken system would be to start by introducing a wage cap. If that means some of the ‘superstar prima donnas’ bugger off to Europe, then so what. Sod ‘em.
I also have a feeling that if the FA implemented such a system, then others might follow suit. After all, there are similar problems in France, Germany etc. it needs just one brave soul to start a trend.
This would provide a much more exciting premier league and eventually make it a little more affordable to the average fan.

Nothing to do with Parish. Players see the glistening lights and want some for themselves. That has become clear with the likes of JPM kicking up a stink. Anyone doing that is a lot more to blame than the board are.

We have made 8 signings and had 2 players leave. Clinton and others keep saying we are lean etc, are we really? We have 6 more players than we had last year, some really good signings have come in.

If we are lean now, what on earth were we last year? Microscopic? Still won a European trophy and avoided the drop with a decent cushion below.

I feel let down by Parish, which is not a thing easy for me to say, because of what i think he has done for the club, at the moment i fear he has took an unnecessary risk in appointing Sage. he might turn out ok, but to go from our No1 Target, Iraola to Sage is mystifying, bypassing Frank, Dyche, McKenna, Parker, even Southgate. i hope Sage is an inspirational signing, but i fear he wont be, fingers crossed.

Who are the really good signings who have come in? Do any of them improve the team and play in positions we needed to strengthen? The only one I can see who fits that bill is Disasi. Other than that we’ve signed some right backs who are unproven but definitely not as good as Munoz, a kid from the states who is ‘one for the future’, a centre half who hasn’t played in years due to injuries and a loan on a player who added very little last season and who Villa fans think is a waste of space.

Think of the centre midfield, think of striker. Even central defence ridiculously enough. Go past the first choice and who comes on?
You can't expect say Wharton to play every game. Only one who seems to be able to do that is Mitchell. Who doesn't suit our system ironically.

I feel as though being in Europe we should focus on that. If we get knocked out then next season we go back to focusing on trying for a decent league finish.
Who remembers where we finished last season? We won a European trophy. That will be remembered forever.
A sobering thought is that for teams like us outside the top 6, 3 go down from 14. It could be us. It is likely to be us one day. What do West Ham fans think at this moment?
Then we will look back with even greater happiness at the enjoyment we got from the FA Cup and Conference League.

Ok....so after a bright start at Everton we ended up losing to our bogey team.

And last night when City upped their game we couldn't go with them.

But there were positives from both matches.

This start was entirely predictable. New manager, new players, and a disjointed pre season due to the World Cup.

If I feel any sense of being let down it's over Lacroix being allowed to leave without a definite replacement lined up.

Leeds away will be tough if we can't match their intensity, but I think there are points to be had at Fulham and home to Ipswich.

When that final whistle went at Wembley last year and glad all over came on I had a flash of all the s*** games we sat through. And it was all worth it!

Parker has suffered immediate relegations in his first seasons back in the PL with Fulham,Bournemouth and Burnley.
He has however overseen promotions to the PL with multiple clubs, so he might prove useful should we get relegated to the Championship at the end of this season.

There is a lot of difference between those three fixtures and the two we have just played. At the very least we have a better chance in all of them.

We beat Fulham in preseason only three weeks ago and have strengthened the squad since then.

We never beat Everton and we almost never win our opener. Business as usual.

Man City are a top-four side with a 200M+ squad. It was hardly expected that we would just roll them over. We actually put in a good performance against City, and if we replicate that performance against smaller teams like Fulham, like Leeds, like Ipswich, we will do very well indeed.

Wow, beyond ridiculous and boring.

Who's let you down? We've won 3 trophies in 2 seasons, and now have a season in the Europa league to look forward too. We've been in the prem for a decade and are building the new stand that everyone said wouldn't happen.

We're also watching every other 'successful' club get dismantled (Newcastle, Villa etc) but so far have only sold 1 of our stars for market value.

What the hell is Parish playing at......guiding us through by far our most successful period as a club. Despite all the difficulty and whilst having to listen to moaning morons like you Steve.

Is it Parish's fault that Olise, Eze, Guehi, and now JP and Sarr want to leave? if so please explain...
