How sure are you that it's only a metatarsal? He's had his medical, apparently, so perhaps our much maligned medical team have discovered something else.

If he has serious injury concerns it’s right not to sign him.

This leaves us still desperately needing defensive cover if the signing doesn’t happen. Right now we have four out and out centre halves to play in a back three. One of those has a poor injury record and is consequently a bit of an unknown quantity. We then have a couple of players who can fill in but for whom it isn’t the first choice position. That’s not enough quality or depth
