Yep. I just don't understand it when Selhurst is referred to as a fortress, and it's a difficult place to come etc.
I've not seen any statistics, but I wouldn't mind betting that our home form is one of the worst in the football pyramid, let alone the Premier League.
I think that’s more a reference to the diabolical traffic and sh!t parking 🤣
Selhurst is far from a fortress, unless you count the odd shooting in the high street.

This is a huge shame and a massive negative for the club and us other fans.

Those who dislike or hate the HF to me are like those who dislike or hate parish... Cant win with some people.

Without them either way the match day atmosphere is going to struggle.

When they protested a few years ago and missed a game or 2 the atmosphere was absolutely dreadful. Not to mention the fact the Manager, new players and future players might enjoy the HF being part of what they're buying in to.

So to those who are happy about it... I hope you enjoy sitting in silence at Selhurst 🥱
The atmosphere has been rubbish for the past couple of seasons. They didn’t join in when others had started a song. There location in the lower tier does not provide good acoustics and they were not often heard beyond the lower tier. I sit in block B lower and at times struggled to hear what they were singing. (I maybe need to get my hearing checked)

There was a small group in the Arther that made an effort to make some noise and with the low ceiling the acoustics magnify the noise much better and that is why the away fans seem to generate a good noise level. (Except Arsenal who were just embarrassing). With a little effort from them and the lower I’m sure that we can still generate a decent atmosphere. We just need the team to give us something to sing and cheer about.

When other teams say its a fortress they mean its a tough place to get to ,like its 3 hours from the nearest motorway during rush hour and a million kebab shops to pass on the way .
When they get here they have to change in a cabin we borrowed off of Brick by Brick and navigate a dozen shield maidens making shapes as they come out to play .

The rest of it is plain sailing

As for the HF ,for me they were just the 'Holmesdale' as we used to be but got organised with the tifo's and flags ect which made for a colourful display . I dont know who its leadership is but they lost my support when they got people moved from their long term seats . That was a step too far , a power play that the club should have nipped in the bud .
But they didn't they gave them the seats , it seemed some sort of status for match tickets that saw them all together at the biggest games in our history when the rest of us had families spread out all over the place . Not being able to sit with my brothers at the Cup final still gives me some sadness .

But there we go ,some of the songs were good when the rest of the ground joined in and Selhurst rocked but most of the time I could have done without that bloody drum

Eagles! Eeeeeeeeegles !

the HF lost my goodwill when Alan Pardew buddied up to them. Pardew badly needed sacking. Dire performances on the pitch, every week. And the guillotine came way too late for my liking.

Only the ones holding communist flags. Lol
Never seen one tbh but deffo dont lke the way the far right have hjacked our natonal flag. Now that is a big issue.
But its matchday so will leave it there. Pierre Sage's red white and blue army anyone? 😉 I wont be there tonight but hope there is no sitting on hands and I can feel the atmosphere through my TV set. COYP

Me neither, more of a Liverpool thing.

The poor acoustics come because ‘Uncle Ron’ wanted to build the stand on the cheap. Where the architect got the idea of a barn roof with dovecote in the middle I don’t know. Maybe one of Noades’ farmer friends. The acoustics would improve if a new flat roof was built to tie in with the new stand. The overall height wold decrease by 16-19% which would improve chances of having a double deck stand in Park Road in the future.

A short term fix would have been to put acoustic panels over the away area to deaden the sound. However most of these were flammable until recently and you can imagine the problems if the scousers set off their flares!
