Dolly Parton

She was a genius as well as a fabulous country singer/song writer, self deprecating, funny, philanthropist.
She had it all as well as charm by the bucket load.
Sad to lose her, a beacon of decency and goodness, gone at a time when the USA is run by so many absolute scumbags.

And trump is instructing the lowering of flags for a week in her honour across the USA !

Really sad news,

Funny thing for me is that I never bought a Dolly Parton record. Liking Dolly was really not a cool thing to admit back in the day but as I matured, I have come to really appreciate so many artists that I never gave a thought to, back in the day. Dolly Parton is one of those artists.

I remember really liking "Here you come again" as a child. I never clicked it was her singing at the time but I heard it again after her passing was announced. What a beautiful voice, absolutely beautiful. She really stood out in a world of stand outs. I thought it was a track that she wrote, as we know she could write beautiful songs but it was actually not written by her, however the track remains my favourite Dolly Parton track..

An amazing and much loved person. Rest in peace Dolly...

Last night I did my own salute to Dolly. It was very dignified.
I am often called the master baker.

By all accounts a lovely lady, overflowing with musical talent and high moral standards

All the years I was a fan of the brilliant bbc comedy butterflies with my school boy older lady crush Wendy Craig, and I never knew the theme tune was a Dolly Parton song

Every days a school day

RIP
