f***ing Sky!

I couldn't be more wrong about what exactly?

You've basically invented an argument I didn't make.

I never said Palace are in turmoil, that we've sold every star player, or that the pundits are definitely right. I said I can understand why outsiders might look at a club playing European football with a squad they think is a little thin and predict we might struggle. That's hardly an outrageous conclusion.

You also say, They haven't seen us play a single league game yet.
Well... neither have we. That's generally the small inconvenience with making a pre-season prediction. 😀

And yes, they're guessing. That's literally what a prediction is.

Also, you're very confidently telling me these podcasts don't know our squad and have just based everything on Europe, friendlies and losing one player, despite having absolutely no idea which podcasts I'm talking about, what they've watched, or how much research they've actually done. That's quite an impressive prediction in itself.

As for Palace fans knowing more about Palace than pundits do, obviously we do. But we're also spectacularly biased. If knowing your own club automatically made your predictions more accurate, every fan forum in the country would have their team finishing six places higher. 😀
Sorry 😍, its listening how everyone jumps on the same band wagon as the so called experts , we have 6 new signings some we know others watch this space ,
a manager who turned 2 french teams around , Lens chased the champion lge winners all season , lots of unknowns , we still have 11 players that was at the w/c , so find there assumption hard to follow , you know the saying if your aunt had bollocks she would be your uncle ,
We are entering a new part of our history , yes its going to hard to follow what we have just achieved , not enough to say man the life boats

And lastly if there palace podcasts then shame on them ,

Yep so so much to be positive about right now. Since when have we ever been so active in the window? And on what look like a really promising bunch.

They all have mentioned the three trophies in two years in their initial interviews, I don't think that's any coincidence. Yes the club will be keen to get it into all media content, but it can't be under-stressed just how much it makes a difference in selling the club to those prospects joining us, and what level of player we can attract as a result.

On The Athletic youtube preview the two influencers predicted Palace as 14th and 15th respectively

They both had the promoted teams to all go back down again - which is safer bet than picking which one will make a decent attempt at survival

From the current PL teams they had more concerns over Fulham (and one of them Sunderland) than Palace

I have actually been in communication with an erudite soul who has concluded that we are in for a challenging season and he cited his reasons as thus :

A new manager, one relatively inexperienced in top-flight management and being thrust into the rigours of the PL.
The loss of Lacroix and no experienced 'Oven ready' replacement. His loss on the back of the Guehi departure and other experienced players might move to 'Pastures New' like Wharton.
Signings of relatively some unknown players who might take time to adapt to the PL and some of course might not be successful.
The extra workload due to participation in the 'Europa League'.
He did believe that Nottm Forest and Everton were better equipped as we spoke and he had a hunch that our supporters need to "gird our loins".
He could of course be proved totally wrong as he admitted !
What’s new? Sometimes it seems pundits judge us according to the standards of the billionaire owned mega clubs. Our objectives are more modest and we always “gird our loins” at the challenge of meeting them. This is nothing new for us.

Key players have moved on every summer for several years now (Bolassie, Townsend, Zaha, Andersen, Olise, Eze etc)

I think we have started a few seasons with a new manager before (but few as accomplished as Sage!)

We were playing European games last season (and had Sarr out for weeks at AFCON! And no proper cover for key positions)

We thrive on developing unknown players (Guehi, Wharton, Munoz, Doucoure, Eze, Olise)

Bring it on! COYP!

In respect of our prospects, I have been 'Girding my loins' for many a year !
It would appear that the gentleman who sent me the message was suggesting that the forthcoming campaign would be particularly challenging for CPFC with umpteen 'Bumps in the road' for the reasons he outlined.
