I know it's a bit early but here goes:

Sounds like Everton are not happy at the back so i'm going 2-1 palace 👍 with McNeil scoring the winning goal 😀

7-6 win to Palace.

6 down at HT due to a few defensive blunders and bad luck. Second half we bring on Drakes-Thomas who nets a triple brace (half dozen/double hattrick/30 shillings). Happy with the draw Everton start playing a bit of keep ball only for Dean Henderson to rush into midfield and take the ball on mazy run. Of course, he suddenly remembers he's a goalie and this has all got a bit fantastical so he just plays the ball out for a 96th minute throw. A dopey linesman, too reliant on VAR doesn't spot the ball come back off an advertising board at a rather alarming pace, eventually tucking under the second choice England goalie into the net. Credit Henderson. Deano refuses to accept the goal shouldn't have been given.

1-2.
Everton to score with a header from a set play after 15 minutes, then add a second soon afterwards, as one of theirs nods home from a free header following a bit of a nothing ball slung into the box from a deep, wide position. We will commence frothing at the mouth about how the player could be so free and unmarked in the gap between two of our three central defenders.

In between this, a good move on our part will end up with Mitchell in a dangerous position, but he will produce only an unconvincing cross/shot that is neither one thing or the other.

Everton will then drop off a bit and we will rally. Sarr will nick one back.

We will then have more of the possession but create little.

Come the final whistle Everton will take the points but we will take some consolation from the more positive second half display, and from how early in in Sage's tenure we are.

Other than that, I'm not really sure.

Off and running 🤣

Everton have the benefit of continuity in terms of manager, system, organisation and players- with the addition of Hackney, who was a long term target of ours.
A 2-0 defeat.

I'll go for a draw 1-1. We'll take the lead early on and Johnson gets their equaliser in the 92nd minute.

They'll laugh and we'll cry into our beer.
