Wilf,in his prime,presently!!

Disgusting propaganda and libel.

He was loved at his last club btw, he scored plenty of excellent goals if you'd been following.
Thankfully in the SSN report they point out this is a courtesy of CPFC to allow Zaha to use their facilities to stay fit. They have no plans to offer him a contract.

The fans weren't impressed with his temper, which Dean Smith did his best to cover by saying It was passion... he was highest in yellows.. but that's down to the culture of MLS out there.. we also were forgiving.

His wages were also very high - esp. for someone whose knees have gone.

Its easy to look good in the MLS and at times, he didn't! Zaha was a great player for us in his prime. My son's favourite player when he played for us.
He is not that player any more. Hasn't been for a couple of years.

He might make it into a newly promoted team's squad who are willing to throw money at a gamble. I doubt it though. I'd expect him to sign a short term contract at Charlton or QPR, Maybe even Millwall if they have the money and space in their squad. Have no problem with him as a person. He's a Palace hero. But no, not good enough for our level any more.

As the great Larry Holmes once said, you can be top of the World for a long time but sooner or later old father time will come for you. Then its done.

I suspect he's simply using the facilities to keep fit for his next overseas club he'll be hoping to join whilst he sees out his time to escape the taxman's clutches.

Jonny Williams is also back here training. Double signing imminent?...

Nah, the times we had with Wilf were incredible, but they are in the past. More than happy for him to use the facilities here whilst he is looking for his next, and probably final, destination, but that destination is not with us.

Pierre was asked about it in his interview today. He said he doesn't expect anything more to come of it. Polite version of "no chance".

Interesting to learn that they worked together somewhere in the past for four months... not sure where that would have been.

Sage was Wilf’s manager at Lyon in 2024/5.

Wilf had his contract terminated on 22nd January 2025 and Sage was sacked 5 days later.

I traveled to Charlotte to see Wilf every chance I had the past two years, which was a dream come true for me. When he wanted to play, he was the best player on the pitch, period. However, I don't think he really ever had fun playing the game over here and I don't think his heart was fully in it. I also believe the style of play and refereeing in MLS frustrated the hell out of him, and affected his play. I could see him being a valuable member of the team for a year or so, but only if he was willing to accept the role that currently fits him.

Also, first post on here, so go easy on me 🙂
