As much as this is a ridiculous situation, it would need a change in the law. It was a stupid idea not to exclude certain categories of prisoner. Parliament needs to be recalled and a pause put in this however embarrassing it is for them..
In regards to the overcrowding, buy four prison ships asap and use those until a proper solution can be found. After all they got one for the migrants I am sure they could make it work. Maybe someone has a reason why it wouldn't. I would like to know...

Nobody has an automatic right to be released due to some legislation. People are detained at His Majesty's Pleasure. That's about it.
It doesn't take a change in the law. It entails taking on loud scum, that's about it.
Labour are making a mistake if they think they're gaining any votes off of people by doing this. These people do not vote. Or even exist except for the purposes of benefits in at least two countries, possibly more than once in each country.
They will not be registered to vote anywhere.
