Lamine Camara

Comparing his highlights reel to Gozo ..

Gozo , 4-5 nice goals

This guy , 10 minutes of a constant flow of goals , looong , decisive passes , zaha like dribbles , multiple defensive blocks , interceptions , reclaiming procession and launching straight back through the opposition .. always seemed to be looking forwards for opportunities

Seems like the complete package as a box to box midfielder + goals .

Seriously excited at the thought of getting him .

Parish needs to stop mucking about pay the fee this lad will be worth £85 million plus in like 2/3 years
it's hardly mucking around. We apparently made a bid (50m euros) that was purportedly in the range of what Monaco would except only for them to decide they wanted more. We may have decided to walk away rather than play their game and are now looking at a player in Italy.

Bigger clubs came sniffing and Monaco understandably played coy.

It is up to them to take our offer on a bird-in-hand basis; or wait for the better offer that may or may not come from those with deeper pockets.

Rumours have picked up around Wharton in the last 24 hours linking him to Liverpool and United. Maybe we're trying to get his replacement in first? Pure speculation on my part.

I feel it is more a case of Hughes and Lerma are getting older and Kamada is also in his 30's, I always think it takes a year for a player to bed in so I'd ver ore on the side that we are trying to get Camara in now so he has time to bed in, in preperation for if Wharton goes next summer (Which I expect to happen).

I saw a story that they had turned down a 'verbal' bid from us.
It smacks to me that they are trying to get an auction going and I do wonder if we are being used.
I'd be very surprised if we were to bid £45 plus million for a midfielder unless perhaps Wharton was being sold.
Even then we'd probably be more likely to go for a loan/free as a replacement!
