We knew very early on that this was mainly affecting old people. So very early on we could have had children back in school and out playing. 3 weeks to flatten the curve. Lol
That though was NOT the point, as I suspect you already fully understand. Whilst it was soon realised that young people weren’t suffering severely they could still catch and transmit the virus to the groups of people who were severely impacted.
Off course I NEVER wore a mask in public places. What a very silly question. In public it was recommended and never a law. Many people had medical conditions so they couldn't wear them anyway. You never had to say you were exempt, as that would be an admission of a private medical condition. You could just say I choose not to wear one. As far as I know, every covid punishment challenged has been overturned as it was unlawful.
Then you were very lucky, as well as being irresponsible. Failing to wear a face covering in mandated public indoor spaces or public transport during the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK was unlawful, enforced via Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) starting at £100 or £200 (depending on the regulations at the time) and doubling for repeat offenses up to a maximum of £6,400. Not many fines were actually made. There being no wish to punish, just a wish to see public spirited compliance in a national endeavour. Well done. You failed.
Masks didn't work they only made the wearer sick. Breathing in their own germs and carbon dioxide. Fiddling around with them all the time. The masks easily let through "virus particles " the equivalent of throwing a bucket of water through a chain link fence.
You do yourself no harm when breathing in germs you already have. Masks of course worked by stopping huge amounts of virus being expelled into small spaces, rather than be caught or forced to fall to the ground. Something a close wired chain link fence does to water. They also gave reassurance and comfort to many.
200 people at my work. No masks at the so called height of it. Social distancing paid lip service. No one got ill. I've already told you this but you bang on about social distancing, masks and saving lives.

Answer me this please. What is the point of the 2 meter rule for an airborne disease. Surely by that logic none of us would have been able to occupy the space someone else had recently been; but we did all the time breathing the same air.
If you cough or sneeze directly into another’s face you risk them receiving a large dose of virus. Do it 2 metres away that virus dissipates, some of it falls, and the dosage risk diminishes. It’s not a complete solution. It mitigates risk. So was obviously both necessary and worthwhile. Not that the common sense involved penetrated the determined know it alls.
The government put out on a gov. link March 2020 that "covid 19: was a member of the coronavirus illnesses. That it was similar to the flu and not deadly to most. So we knew very early.
Similar in structure doesn’t mean anything. It was new, with no known cure or remedies. Worst case scenarios were awful.
The great Dr Vernon Coleman used to keep that link on his website, it might still be there.

The NHS were overwhelmed in some places probably because healthy staff were being sent home with false positives from the pcr test.
The NHS wasn’t overwhelmed. Staff worked overtime and were reassigned from other duties to ensure they weren’t. There were knock on effects, of course.
Every winter the NHS is overwhelmed from flu and respiratory issues. This time they had far fewer staff because of the testing. The same happened at my work.
The NHS get put under pressure but never overwhelmed. PCR testing helped. I tested positive 3 times, and my symptoms each time meant I would certainly have infected others if I had not isolated.
The NHS didn't provide me with any service, (of which I pay for through my taxes and your wife gets paid to do a job) I never used them through the debacle.
How many others did you infect through your carelessness and irresponsibility? You don’t, of course, have any idea because you didn’t test, wear a mask or socially distance!

We didn't need to learn on the hoof. This was shown and admitted to be a coronavirus, not a deadly disease to healthy people. Certainly not children and people probably under 50 at least.
A new coronavirus! One with no known cure or treatment. Just because something shares a common root with something else means nothing at all, other than a place to start with your research.

Are you simple? They aren’t the same! They share 79% of their genetic code and use the same pathway to infect, but they aren’t the same virus. The treatment for one doesn’t equal the treatment for the other. Both require completely different regimes.
