Wisbech's position on the grooming gangs means he gets zero sympathy from me. I was in those discussions with him for years. Excuse after excuse for what the state did....even when official reports came out criticising it.

Also the hypocrisy on diversity for you but not for me. ...There is what someone says and then there is what they do.

Where are you standards on his support for the Police on decades of inaction on working class girls being raped Dan?

That's a good point, I have a ST and went to Leipzig, how often do you actually go to games Centurion?
And before you ask I attend around 10 PL home games a year.

I have never suggested it is “diverse” only that it seems, by personal observation only, to be becoming so. I don’t have recent statistics, this being of little interest to me. It’s how people behave that matters.

I have no idea of whether those I am seeing are recorded in the official statistics. We do though live close to the major Cornwall hospital, which seems to have had a significant increase in the number of employees coming from Africa in recent times. People putting a strain on the rental market for many miles around.

When my “position” on the grooming gangs was constantly deliberately misrepresented by you, despite patient explanations and corrections you don’t deserve any sympathy from anyone.

You are doing it again!

At no time have I, or would I, defend Police inaction on working class girls being raped. To suggest I would is a complete misunderstanding of what I have said. This is solely your prejudices overpowering your eyesight and brain.

My support for the Police was exclusively in understanding how their under resourcing and workload, when assessed against our expectations, produces challenges. They cannot be in two places at once. Choices have to be made. Someone is going to be disappointed. Mistakes will happen. Individuals fail.

That’s not support for inaction. It’s a call for more action. The provision of greater resources so they are able to do the job we ask of them.

Season ticket holder and was in Liepzig too. And Florence. And Lublin.

Would you go to more games if it didn’t risk your non-resident tax status, HKPatriot?

If only Rod Liddle had been a Palace fan and posted on this forum - his demolition of Wisbech would have been spectacular.
He was of course banned from a Millwall forum when posting as 'monkeymfc'. After several warnings for deemed 'racist-type' comments, the final straw was when, after a visit to a concentration camp, he wrote that it was “F**ing outrageous that you can’t smoke in Auschwitz. I had to sneak round the back of the gas chambers for a crafty snout.”

That though is entirely different to understanding and respecting the need for our country to have to deal with the realities of a situation none of us want. We have obligations under international treaties. People make asylum claims that take time to process. Our means of doing so is overwhelmed so delays occur. Those who suggest simplistic solutions are misleading people irresponsibly. There aren’t any such solutions. The only way to overcome this is the long hard slog we are involved in, which is, very slowly, working. In the meantime some will get discomforted. How we manage such facilities is an entirely different matter. Unless families are involved I see no reason why those being housed are permitted to roam in communities. I am not any kind of expert on the logistics and manpower required but secure facilities, well away from urban centres, with basic work expected in return for accommodation, seem sensible to me. They aren’t here on holiday. Keeping them safe and fed is all we should be doing. Alongside ensuring our lives are disrupted as little as possible. I see some signs of attempts to do this.

The first time I moved to live in the West Country was back in the 60s, when I first left home. I moved to Devon from London, gave up my job in the City and arrived here without one. Quickly found a new one in Plymouth, where my city experience counted a lot.

I left because I was tired of the commute and chaos. I will never again live in a city.

It’s all about what’s most important. Such decisions are much more difficult if you have family commitments but are not impossible.

It really is t though, is it? My daughter works in the Space industry as does her husband, are you suggesting that they could give up their jobs and move to Cornwall to look for employment? If you hadn’t noticed the job market is somewhat different today than the 60s.
Try getting transferred if you work in the Civil Service.
By the way Truro is a City, time to move?
