Palace Summer 2026 transfers?

So Max,has gone today.
Hopefully, with a very inadequate fee of some £52m, SP, will not find it too difficult to bring in a few new faces to bolster a threadbare squad in preparation for a very busy season.

Can we buy a proven left footed attacking player the can play LWB if needed or, hopefully, left wing. El Hadji Diouf would fit the bill.

Apparently Palace are showing serious interest in Odilon Kossounou from Atalanta. He's only 25, already has plenty of experience at a high level and can play in both a back three and a back four, which feels like exactly the sort of defender we'd be looking for.

I've liked him ever since his Club Brugge days. If the price isn't crazy, I'd definitely take him. Feels like he'd fit the Premier League really well.

I like to look of Cresswell and Matsima - both are risky buys though, and little change from £50m….
I am please to see that we are not linked to any players being offloaded by other PL teams, unless it’s Chalobah

We've been after him for a while...I remember even when at Leverkusen we were interested. A shame we didn't snap him up when he did move for 15m.

For me the Lacroix deal still rankles.

I’ve been thinking about centre backs in the Premier League, and how many would I take above Lacroix and Guehi?
Saliba maybe and possibly Van Dyke, although he’s on a downwards slope and perhaps Ven Der Ven.
That would be about it.
In my view we will really feel the loss of two of the league’s best centre backs in not much more than 6 months.

He had 3 years on his contract and didn’t appear to be agitating to leave.
Some have said we don’t have the facts, perhaps there was a release clause or the club has to raise finance and both possibilities have to be acknowledged.

But then there’s the question of the fee.
If Lacroix was openly on the market, I’d be very surprised if other clubs weren’t interested in him, thereby creating an auction for his services.
The transfer to Chelsea looks very cosy with little in the way of negotiation.
Matsima’s club have held on to him despite Palace apparently agreeing terms with the player.

It is possible to say no.

Not even a sniff of a midfielder coming in. Wharton is injury prone so that is a big risk.

Yep I'm with you. I personally think we should be getting two in for the following reasons: Wharton injuries, when he's not playing we have very little creativity, Hughes and Lerma getting older so can't cover the ground required of a two man midfield, we need more physicality, additional European games will take their toll...we tried the Hughes/Lerma combo for Conference League games and that struggled, lastly back to Wharton- we all know he's probably got one more season with us so it's better to prepare early.

I'd go for Shea Charles and Jordan James. Probably get the pair for 45m plus a few add ons. Both we've been linked with, both would provide things we're desperately lacking and both have big potential.

Do I think it'll happen. Sadly no.

What about the lad Brentford are interested in from Lens?

Also, we also seem to work on things silently in the background and then the press only get a sniff of it when we've agreed terms (or close to). The club do a brilliant job with keeping our negotiations under wraps, I wouldn't judge what you read in the press as a meter for what the club are actually doing.

I suspect Wharton will be subject to at least two fairly hefty bids and we will sell.

We will then have the money but as we have a policy of doing most transfer business ideally 10 mins before the window shuts we will be left short and struggle.

So far we have one free transfer and are looking at another. We are in Europe and we have a new manager . Lets see Parish back them.

The insane thing for me is:
Henderson
Muñoz Richards Canvot Mitchell
Pino Kamada Wharton NEW
Larsen Sarr

Benitez/whitworth
Mingueza Riad King Sosa
Johnson Lerma Hughes Esse
Mateta Nketiah

Franca, Doucoure, Ozoh, Adramola, Drake-Thomas, Kporha?

For me the squad picks the team, loan a good left footed winger, and maybe buy Le Guen, and a decent manager would get the team set up like this, Mitchell is a very good full back, but a crap wing back, plenty of cover 28 players, 2 loan or bought, and sales, replace.
