Political knee-jerk to show "something is being done".
Same as always.
Or opportunistically pushing through legislation while the 'targets' are unpopular.

Again, were not these groups causing criminal damage and costs, blocking roads and in some cases attacking people? That's not protesting....that's always been illegal as it should be......I remember the throwing paint stuff, put those people in jail, damaging planes and so on.
Now, I would question why we need new laws to deal with that.....I would want to know the reasoning behind these new laws.......I really would, so you might have a point there. I'm not aware of what is in these new laws.
You can take it from me, I most certainly object to attacks against peaceful protest, whatever the politics as that should be a protected part of the British legal tradition.

You never stop talking bollocks. Great stamina. My interpretation is that it is an image showing someone "getting the chop". An expression that goes back generations meaning to lose your job, not your head.
But wearing it and endorsing it so soon after the murder is just plain stupid as well as a whole raft of other things.
Remove post, apologise, don't do it again.
One thing is certain. The Greens are just as inept as Reform.
England
My cat did actually chew my homework back in the day. Mr Barlow wasn’t impressed 🤣Not as poorly judged as you are claiming. In what world does someone think about losing their job if they see a guillotine. If it was a gun would you think he was "getting fired"? We weren't born yesterday, "dog ate my homework" level of lying.
England
So you’re saying it takes a bigger man to walk away from a fight.Because if your whole pitch is 'we're the sensible ones', you kind of have to demonstrate that for it to be believable. If your argument is that the left have normalised hyperbole, the answer obviously isn't to adopt the same standards when it suits you.
If you claim to be different, people will judge you by whether you behave differently.
England
So you’re saying it takes a bigger man to walk away from a fight.
Suits in this case as your statement is a very clever no lose one. Maybe next time a judge sends down a nan for a tweet you will protest that he didn’t look at the bigger picture and see it for what it was. A stupid few lines on the internet
Really?
A guillotine.....the quote 'making plans for Nigel'.
Lose your job?
Really? You're going with that?
I can only advise you to not buy any bridges offered to you.
England
This. The guillotine, and its association with the French Revolution, is perhaps the most politically significant method of execution, on a multiple of levels.
Now personally, I am not convinced there is a crime here, even if it was the otherway around, the usual suspects would be screaming out for a prison sentence.
But to try and proclaim it as just being about losing a job.....pathetic.
England
I think we might have gone to the same school...My cat did actually chew my homework back in the day. Mr Barlow wasn’t impressed 🤣

Ashburton 👍I think we might have gone to the same school...

'its fine when we do it because the other side is worse' is not an argument for grown ups - you're just projecting tribal bullshit and declining to even try and maintain principles.
And as I've said, that is precisely the mindset that has allowed increasingly broad restrictions on speech and protest.
England
The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 and the Public Order Act 2023, both of which were introduced largely in response to disruption by groups like Just Stop Oil and Insulate Britain - I don't remember too many on the right objecting. Quite the opposite.
What I'm suggesting is clearly true - Spindle has literally just made the argument 'it's fine when we do it, but not the left'. We're watching it happen in real time while you tell me it's not true because of the communist Party of Great Britain.

You frequently talk a load of nonsense but this lot surpasses most. The right has been attacked for its speech, while the left has been given a free pass....unless it actually attacks the establishment because it isn't left wing enough for their liking.
Free speech laws now have no protections, laws were changed during woke and haven't been removed....Speech is essentially interpreted however the state or institution wants to interpret it......It has lost its protected principle under the left and indeed the Tories....which is an embarrassment to what the Tories once were.
Unless Reform or Restore or whoever wins negotiates sensible principles back the right should play the left under their own rules once they take power.
Social Conservatives kept these principles....we believed in them, we employed the left in institutions only to find that once in charge the left wouldn't employ the right. What's the point in playing fair when the opposition won't.
We weren't the ones sacking people and arresting people for mean comments. All that has happened is that we have had our people sacked and replaced out of the institutions and the left protect themselves.
The left are never satisfied and thus reaction is inevitable.
England
So was I, yesterday!Pretty sure he kicked off when harmless granny held up a Palestine Action support placard and got arrested.
"She's 82, EIGHTY TWO!!!!!!"

Nobody? You frequently talk a load of nonsense but this lot surpasses most.
Nobody has “attacked” anyone else. Speech today is as free as it ever has been. What’s changed is the hard right positioning themselves as victims alongside some legal clarifications of what is acceptable and what not.
An unrestricted right to say, or do, whatever you like has not existed since the origins of society living. Once that existed, so did laws which required compromises and the suppression of personal beliefs in favour of those of either the majority, or a ruling class.
A Reform government wouldn’t change that in any way. They would simply change the group who saw themselves as victims.
Nobody has been, or ever would be, punished for “mean comments”! That some think they are is clear evidence of the victim culture. People get punished for actions, not thoughts. If a comment has the potential to directly, or indirectly, cause harm to others then it stops just being a thought and becomes an action.
This has nothing at all to do with the “left”. Something you regard as a big bad bogeyman behind everything you dislike but, in truth, hardly exist in any meaningful sense in the reality of today’s politics. It only has to do with common sense progressive politics. Us gradually learning and adjusting. Your prejudices though will not allow you to accept that as the truth.

Why should anyone care what your age is.?So was I, yesterday!
I haven’t noticed too many cutting me any slack as a consequence and would be highly offended if they did.
Where you started studying for your medical degree that qualifies you to judge the mental state of people you have only read about in the news.............I think we might have gone to the same school...
