Como Cup

Completely agree. Watch him become a star. At the very least, put in a massive future sale clause. Which we probably won't.
I wouldn't trust Palace to negotiate with my barman for a pint. It'd be twice the amount and flat.
Completely agree too. At least it will probably do Danny a world of good, I'll be happy for him from afar.

Benítez, Matthews, Benetton, Whitworth, Cardines, Richards, Canvot, Mitchell, Sosa, Jemide, King, Walker-Smith, Adaramola, Benamar, Kamada, Devenny, Doucouré, Hughes, Ozoh, Sarr, Esse, França, Johnson, Nketiah, Drakes-Thomas, Rak-Sakyi

Good to have a few back from the World Cup

Richards, Kamada and Sarr should help though probably only limited minutes as they've only just come back off their holidays

A lot more confident of a result if they are starting. So far one great result and one terrible result. We can put Bromley behind us.

Chance for up to 180 minutes in the legs across the three Como games for some of our more experienced and important names.

Como Cup will give a better idea of what to expect from Pierre Palace, and main team can start to adapt to him.

Looking forward to some better performances today

Hopefully the Bromley shock and dismal display will be used to light a fire under the fringe players. Their Palace futures and chance of being premier league players next season is on the line.

I expect more intensity and to see the forwards take their chances clinically.

Also a test of Sage's motivational powers after a set back.

We're getting 5m for a player thats never played a top flight game, has only 1 years left on his deal, that seems pretty good to me. Personally would have loved to have seen him in the squad but realistically we have 3-4 ahead of him in the pecking order

We'll see in the future won't we. I think it's a decent punt by Wrexham. It'll either work, or it won't.

Agree on it being a decent punt for Wrexham. It is probably the right decision for all three parties involved.

We can't offer the time he needs and deserves. Hopefully there is a good sell on percentage. He has a good shot at promotion this season btw.

What really grinds .years is that this was sold as a big thing, a competition to attend or subscribe to watch.

People will have paid good money to travel and watch and we put out a team.of kids second string players and a smattering of first team.

Ever feel you have been ripped off (again,)

As I said on another thread, with 12 players away at the \World Cup it was obvious we wouldn't see the bulk of our 1st XI until Fulham at the earliest. We might see two or three more on Friday.

Fifth place play off? Not a trophy which will take pride of place in the newly expanded cabinet.
Just watched the 'highlights' Edouard should have gone to the WC instead of JPM!
It was pretty woeful. Even with Imray going, I can't see Cardines being at the club this season. Second best in both games with Lens breaking fast on giveaways and Franca and Johnson (naturally) missing easy chances. About the only positive was that it was Doucoure (I think) that did a good turn and pass to put Franca in

No one remembers Preseason friendlies unless the team then has a bad season. At that point the "I told you so brigade" will remind the rest of us of their prediction.

It was a poor performance and clearly Sage has a lot of work to do.

The body language of many of the players was disinterested. I guess some will be wanting to get away on loan or be sold so don't want to be there. Others may feel they have no chance of first team football and they are just making up the numbers until the key players return.

However what is worrying is that fringe players who do have a chance to break through did not take their chances.

Hopefully I will not remember this post when the real football starts.

Perhaps it’s more of a cautious thing. “I’m on show here so I mustn’t fvck up”.
