Watched AZ v Olympiakos y/day, AZ 2-0 down at half time, won 3-2. Yes Mary Knickers was there, watching him implode was funny. Kees Smit did hardly anything except cause the foul for the 1st goal & got involved in petty squabbles everywhere.

Would be an amazing signing.

This summer probably is the time to make this type of signing. We know we only have Kamada for another year, and Wharton will likely be off if he has a good season. So makes sense to start to bed someone in early.

There hasn't been tones of speculation around him, which feels odd

A number of clubs have been reported as being interested in him....Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle....oh and Brighton !

Apparently Newcastle have dropped their interest as they believe he's not interested in going there. Which suggests he thinks he could do better ( not Brighton I hope ).

Fee would be in the region of £50m+ which historically I would have assumed to be too much for Palace - until we spent that on JSL.

it will be interesting to see if a so-called big club actually bids for him this window. In any case, I doubt we'd splurge the Lacroix money on him. I remain to be convinced he's worth the money being quoted.
