Palace Summer 2026 transfers?

Imray is supposedly off to Wrexham for around £5 million.
I'm surprised he's never really had an opportunity with us and I hope we have a sell on clause.
Like Jake O'Brien he could be one who got away.

I suppose that when you have Munoz, Cardines and possibly Mingueza for one position £5 million into the transfer pot is good business. Imray was put out on loan because it was not thought he would make it but year on year he has improved. Shame he is going and I hope there is a decent sell on clause.

a decision on Imray was required this season. At 23 he needs football and after a few loans has clearly improved with each one.

He is undoubtedly a championship level footballer (at a minimum) but there is still a big gap to the premier league.

With Munoz clearly 1st choice and with a few other options, selling him is probably best all round.

Whilst the £5m looks a decent price i strongly suspect it's a lower upfront with add ons - maybe £3m with extras based on appearances etc.

As has been mentioned, hopefully there is a sell on % too.

Good luck Danny

I saw a lot of him in his full season at Bromley and although he was impressive for them and very Munoz like, I wasn’t sure about premier league level, he wasn’t great at the defending part, but then again I suppose you could say that about a lot of wing backs who are good going forward

He’s one of those players that reminds me of the demise of the great team we had in the late 70’s early 80’s, he was on a long list of crap players and has beens we were bringing in
David Price would comfortable sit in the top 5 worst players i have ever seen at Palace, and there is a lot to pick from.

£5M for Imray is reasonable money and I wish him all the best for the future. Regular first team football is a must for him now after all the years in our development squads and out on loan.

We should’ve done the same with JRS when Southampton wanted him in 24/25. He’s another who will not feature for the First team this season.

Would we get the mooted £10 million offered for JRS back then now?
I suppose it partly depends if there is competition for his services.
Assuming Imray goes for circa £5 million and Devenny, JRS and Ozoh for similar figures, the club will have both made money and saved on wages.
All have been linked with moves and, although it could be argued that would leave the squad light, in reality only Devenny has featured in the first team recently as the others have been out on loan.
It will be interesting to see if Sage prefers the 'small squad' approach or is one of those managers who frequently rotates players.

We have a minimum of 48 games this season - and if we assume that we make at least some limited progress in the Europa League & both of the domestic cups that 48 could easily become somewhere between 55 - 60 games, just like last season, so I would have thought we will have to either buy a few more players or work out a sensible rotation plan.

I wouldn't be so quick to offload all our fringe players. However, I do struggle to see a future for JRS and possibly Esse, but Devenny has been a useful if limited bench option and Ozoh in the limited game time this season has been the one midfielder who's done what Sage has asked, namely pass forward through the lines or drive forward where he has the space. At 21 and with 2 good seasons in the Championship with Derby behind him, I'd be inclined to keep him as a squad option. Re Doucoure, it's too soon to know whether or not he can regain sufficient ability and confidence to be a genuine midfield option.

I suspect that we don't have a great deal of funds so will only be replacing outgoing players .
However we need another central midfielder and if we want goals / attacking ability that is going to cost.

Personally I would accept in return us selling Ozoh, Esse, Devenney and Rak Saki and Nketiah if we can offload him. Plus any of the other fringe players.

We were stitched up on the O Brien fee but not sure he's all that really.

As for Imray, £5m for a 23 year old who has never played for us is very good business. Suspect if he was going to be Prem level we'd have seen it by now.
