He may well turn out to have mental health issues. The signs are certainly there but the reality is we don’t know that, or what his politics are, or if whatever they are whether it was them which motivated him.

So there is no doubt at all here about only one thing! You are making assumptions.
So amongst all his other significant skills, WE is now qualified to give medical opinions, he knows the signs of mental illness.

The bold highlight is the risible irony of what he wrote following the para. in which he accused someone of making assumptions.

Plus ca change etc

Holding high morals, standards and values are essential for any society to be successful.

That though does not, in any way, mean we must revert to the politics of the past to achieve them.

Exactly the reverse is true. We need to apply them within the framework of the reality of today and not the mists of yesterday.

Being truthful, acting lawfully, caring for the less fortunate, following the golden rule, loving your neighbour. All essential, but done wisely, with the benefit of scientific achievement informing how to apply them.

You don’t need to live in Cornwall or play bowls to live as best you can to those standards. I do, and both do provide support.

The right wingers here, and in politics, are the most deluded group I have ever encountered. They have very selective memories and remember only those things they think used to be better, whilst ignoring the many more that were worse.
Can’t have met many or any of any other political persuasion then. What an assumption!
Have you never seen/heard the left wing “Queers for Palestine” claiming they would be safer in Gaza than Israel? That would be the Israel who hold a Pride event every year, what do Palestinians do for Gay people? Now that’s delusional

Give his opinion the contempt it deserves

Oh I have! There are certainly some odd beliefs around. Including those who make outrageously silly statements solely to get across a broader political point.

It’s the level of delusion I am referring to. Those who genuinely seem to believe things that just aren’t true.

Very funny/sad story from a little while back.

An American/Palestinian women goes on a humanitarian trip to Palestine with a group of her black friends.

Her black friends are horrendously racially abused by some Palestinian people. So quite rightly they say sod this and go back to America.

The American/Palestinian women then has a go at her black friends for not understanding the Palestinian people and their plight.

You can't make it up.

Would you describe yourself as a passionate advocate for LGBTQ rights?

You can't pick and choose your prejudices.

I have a friend of Jamaican ancestry who is overly sensitive to any perceived racism. Fair enough, except he regularly makes homophobic comments and doesn't like it when I point out his hypocrisy.

when a Nigel says something homophobic.....he is being homophobic. When some other people say the same thing, that's permissible cos its 'their culture'.

Its a bit like Cousin-marriage in some faraway countries. Not for us to question lest you get accused of being racist.

I have no issue with Gay people and have many gay friends. I admit I am totally against the trans lobby who wish to use female toilets/changing rooms ( being a husband, father of a girl and grandfather to 2 granddaughters). So not passionate, just don’t like it rammed down my throat all the time ( pardon the pun).
Do you believe Queers for Palestine would be safer in Palestine or Israel? Which was the point I was making

I once dated a girl from Tanzania. She went to a college in Brixton. The Africans would sit on one side of the class and the Jamaicans on the other.

All this was because the Jamaicans believed the Africans once sold them into slavery.

These types of stories won't get shown on the bbc will they?

They should have asked for their pocket money as part payment for reparations

when i worked as a contractor at hospitals, it was all hours.
A common theme in maternity was the west indian women slagging off the African women giving birth
"listen to to the racket she's making !" etc.
(most of the midwives were irish or west indies)

Thats the equivalent to people native to the British Isles not getting on with Scandinavians. Cos the Vikings sold us all into slavery.

And for the feud to all play out at, say, a holiday Camp in Ibiza ? How petty and vindictive would that be ?
