Walter Benitez

The falklands was nothing to do with Clarkson, May and Hammond, but the Argies drove them out of the country 🤣
Don’t you mean everything to do with Clarkson with his little sidekick Hammond. May was well…May! They went in to cause trouble in a country that welcomes British people. The Falklands War was caused by the Fascist Junta trying to cling to power and the most people were grateful for our victory which restored democracy. It’s worth a visit and you will be welcomed. L

There is a saying: Argentinians are Italians who speak Spanish, live like the French, and wish they were English!

Did u see the car number plate that caused all the problems though ?

Yes, I did. Jezza was obviously well aware how it would go down, that's why he did it. That's what he always does.

I'm not attacking him, I like him. I'm just being realistic. He does these things to create furore and drama.

It also wasn't really the worst backlash they've had, and an exaggeration to say they were "hounded out". It blew up in the media after they had completed filming and returned to the UK.

As I mentioned above, they really were hounded out of Tennessee or wherever it was in the Deep South after daubing their cars with slogans cliticising Country & Western music, praising gay sex, and stuff like that.

yes, but clarkson, May and Hammond didn’t fight in the war though or have anything to do with the politics at that time

Funny thing was is that they tried to make everyone think the plate was a coincidence 🤣

Goodman and Whitworth probably do have it in them to be backup and fill in if needed. The only problem is that would then affect their own development sitting on our bench instead of getting game time out on loan.

The big clubs do tend to have two keepers at a close level. The competition helps keep the first choice hungry and not complacent.

Valdes & Pinto
Casillas & Navas
De Gea & Lindegaard
De Gea & Henderson
Schzesny & Gomes
Schzesny & Fabianski
Hart & Pantilimon
Hart & Caballero
Cech & Schwarzer
Cech & Courtois
Mignolet & Karius
Allison & Mignolet

You do then if you go that route, need to give the second choice the cup games, and a few sporadic appearances to keep 'em from throwing toys out the pram though.
I think our goalkeepers have been very good in the main since we went up.

I'd question Hennessey. McCarthy did not cover himself in glory either. But pitch that against:

Speroni
Mandanda
Guaita
Henderson
Benitez
Johnstone

Butland couldn't even get a game and I rated him as well.

Doing a 'Willo', Butland joined Hull City on the 2nd July

Agree with you 100%. It's not a bad bunch, is it?

My list would be the same as you too, I never felt the most comfortable with Wayne but that was more than fixed with the arrival of Vicente.

We didn't get to see much of Mandanda, and not the highlight of his career. I had big expectations when he came in, I did think he would end up as number one but it never happened. Still a good option and fit that description of pushing the rest of the pack.

I agree we should get rid of him because Argentina behaved badly in the World Cup final.

On that note, also get rid of Chris Richards because of Trump, Kamada because of Pearl Harbour, Munoz and Lerma because of the cokehead in my local who latches onto me and Paddy McCarthy because of Mrs Brown's Boys.

A very apt choice of words: not for nothing was Wayne dubbed by some as "The Statue"!
