To admit this would be to admit they are part of the problem. As the mainstream pushed the narrative that reform and Farage are racists , hate immigrants and are Nazis like. Of course some lefty with mental health issues will pick up on this.
I'm not sugar coating it anymore. The mainstream media along with some politicians fuelled this rhetoric and are a direct cause of the violent murder of Ann.
I wonder if I go back far enough on the reform thread will there be the same rhetoric from certain posters about reform and farage? They are part of the problem too.

There are people with mental health problems on all sides of politics.
Jumping to conclusions and then whitewashing Reform and Farage isn’t the answer. The MSM must tell the truth as they see it whether you agree or not. Lots of people do see racism, hatred of immigrants and echoes of Nazi attitudes in their policies.
We must allow due process to wind its slow path to a conclusion and then reassess the security arrangements for all public figures, but especially for those who court controversy. Emblazoning your name on your place of retirement possibly not being an especially wise move. Apparently George Brown retired to a cottage in the village I used to live in. He kept to himself. A few knew apparently but not many.

Last week 12 people were arrested over extreme "right-wing terror plot targeting a major Muslim gathering". It was pushed hard as evidence of rising far-right threats. Days later, police confirmed no evidence to support terrorism charges linked to any threat.

Absolute rubbish and you know it. Who are the mainstream media you refer to? Most written media is massively right wing, usually owned by foreign Billionaires. As most written media is loss making ask yourself why you would bother buying a loss making organisation - it's the same as Musk buying Twitter.
Only a few weeks ago Farage described the Times as being left leaning. Absolute bull ocks of course. Not only is it owned by Murdoch is has previously paid Farage to write articles for it.
No doubt you'll say the BBC and Sky are left wing. Most of their political staff look and act like Tory boys and Laura Kuenssberg is about as right wing as you can get. Both outlets have hounded Starmer from day one. Beth Rigby on Sky has been particularly critical.
Compare the coverage of Starmer accepting a couple of pairs of glasses and suits from a Labour Lord (which was declared) v Farage accepting £5m from a crypto billionaire ,which wasn't declared.
Then the property portfolio that Farage owns and has only partly declared v Rayner not paying £40k of stamp duty, which she has belatedly paid , unlike Farage and the Clacton House.
Then lets look at the coverage Farage gets. When he does a press conference it is often shown live. Why? Has a Liberal press conference ever been shown live, yet they have many more MPs.
This media complaint is just following the Trump playbook who discredits anyone who asks 'nasty' questions or queries the rubbish he states as fact.

You bet you! The "mainstream" includes the BBC, Sky, Guardian and recently the times and others who've spent years painting Reform and Farage as the gateway to racism and Nazism.
The media called up to one of Farages properties where his daughter lives! As we now know, looney lefties knowing an address of anyone associated with reform is bad news. It could have been his daughter and not Ann who was hit on the head 21 times with a hammer.
Left wing mainstream media and left politicians spent years doing the same to trump and look how that turned out. I'm expecting and hoping a similar outcome with farage in that he will be the next PM.
Let's all hope and pray that the looney lefties miss their shots like they have with trump.

I do think it's a practice we should probably ban - a journalist can have the same effect 'stopping' someone at their office or at a public appearance.

There are free speech aspects to this I agree with......However the left only think 'free speech' applies to them....for example the offcommunists heavy restrictions on GBNews.
In my view media must be allowed to comment left or right.
However, there is also the question of responsibility.....talking about Nazis is irresponsible and just completely nuts......Also, I believe Sky overstepped the line over Farage's daughter and have put his relatives in more danger, which considering the left's criticism of Farage actually being able to pay for independent security actually makes me quite angry....these people seem to actually want this violence......Farage was fully justified in being very angry and I hope he is looking at legal options.
Of course I look at comments like 'racism, hatred of immigrants and echoes of Nazi attitudes in their policies' as laughable. However from news emerging from the case against this murderer he apparently took that analysis seriously and with certain individuals resorting to violence as an answer is just a tipping point away.....Indeed he had media clippings about Reform and Farage on his walls, these opinions fed into his belief systems.
Widdlecombe, unlike the politics of her murderer was a strong believer in free speech and there is a very very nasty element of the 'progressive' activist....HNH left who use that free speech belief as an excuse to celebrate deaths of right wingers....while seeking to censor right wing speech.
Very 'soviet' and we now have that element in government literally in charge of communications.

Jo Cox's murder was also passed to them, did you not read the image?....the commentary is very different.
The point is in both the reaction of the media and the Police compared to what is called 'far right' attacks.....for example just days after the Widdlecombe murder and as in here with Jo Cox.
The words 'far left' for example have been absence, even though the evidence for that is obvious.
In my view the media, Police management and their paymasters in government have an alignment of interests that have resulted in a two tier treatment of events such as these.
