Didint the police say he went down with a stick? From the videos what he was carrying looked a lot like a hammer.
Stole her cards and ID, then took photos of them on his phone. Was this to prove to his “chums” that they should treat him as a hero?

Maybe the Gardener who found Ann had a suspicion of someone.
Regardless, once they would have watched the security cam footage of her drive and seen that car pull up on the driveway at 12:30, then....with all the cctv on roads, this guy was on the clock.

It seems to me to be more likely it was the gardener they arrested. Obvious suspect before any review of the camera evidence with swift release immediately afterwards.

Yes, she and many of us defend their speech rights even if it means they get to be evil freaks. Her views were perfectly consistent with her faith and held by many of faith and no faith.
Socialist Worker, on the other hand are utter far left hypocrites.
If their political opponents are dead....by whatever means.....they are happy about it because no one hates as much as the far left.

My first thoughts as well. Although does seem bizarre, given a quick look at the security cameras and they would have seen the car. Also I believe there may have images of the murderer on a camera inside the house.
