That’s true, I hate to say that my overriding memory of him in an England shirt was when he nodded a near open net passed the post against Spain or possibly Germany in the 1982 World Cup and we went out, he’d spent most of the tournament injured if I remember right

Yes- even his perm couldn’t soften the landing.
What a bizzare but great show.
Keegan was a legend. Great athlete. A shame his name is most often mentioned when discussing laybys.

i do fondly recall a time when everybody called 'Kevin' was given the moniker 'keegan' as a kinda jokey insult.

Still remember how he played for HSV in a friendly against Rapid back in 1979. He patiently signed autographs on the sidelines. HSV with Hrubesch, Magath and Keegan a top-team at this time.
