Welcome, Óscar! Great to see us making a quick start this summer!

Seems like a great addition on a free. I haven't seen him as far as I remember, although since he's played 42 times for Barça I probably have without remembering.

Anyway, La Liga team of the year, Europa League team of the year, and able to play every defensive position. Those are all exciting prospects in my eyes. Add in the fact that he was free, potentially great business.

I expect he will be a rotation option (good thing with amount of games we will have again) and probably get used in all of his positions, though I'd imagine CB most of all. As far as I'm aware RWB is his #1 but he is fully adept at CB and LWB.

Hope he exceeds expectations.

Yep that's definitely a good sign.

I'll hold my hands up, I've slagged Hobbs off for massively overspending in January but hopefully this is one that makes a lot more sense. Obviously there's no telling until we actually start playing this season but at the moment everything points towards this being a very astute signing.

We'll never know how much he cost us. An out of contract player negotiates his own transfer fee in the form of a signing on fee. which may typically be perhaps half of what he was worth in the transfer market. There is no such thing as a free.............
