I've posted before but we all need the following.

1. A will
2. Power Of Attorney - Wealth
3. Power of attorney - Health.

1. Will, it's not just about making sure the people you care about get what you want them to but it's also about inheritance tax avoidance. If you draw up a will properly you can ensure that you minimise the tax burden on your beneficiaries. From next year our lovely Rachel is including private pension pots in your estate this will mean many many people will now be liable for IHT. Don't let the bastards screw your family.

2. POA Wealth. If you are incapable e.g. stroke or accident it's a complete mess for your love ones managing your bills and finances. Do this now whilst you are "sensible" it can be done online with the government and will only cost about £80.

3. POA Health. Really important do you want a DNR if you are close to death? Do you have specific health requirements e.g. what are your views on organ donation. You need to write this up now whilst you are healthy and appoint a person who understands what you want in the event of.... Again costs about £80

If you don't have the above and you are ill or dying your family will not thank you as it will be a "mare" for them.
