Restore Britain.

Let's imagine, just for the sake of argument, that Restore do really well. Let's say they get as many votes as Reform. What do you think that will mean in our electoral system?

Let me tell you. It will mean another Labour government.

The right have to get behind one party. In reality, Restore will not get anything like enough votes. They will be lucky to win one seat.

This is not rocket science.

Best case is that it allows Farage more mandate for even tougher immigrant law

I think Lowe is a great attack dog to have outside of the Reform party. He can say what needs to be said to the electorate and make Reform look more modrate at the same time.

Ultimately, he needs to throw his support behing Farage because, like him or not, Nige is the only man who can rid us of Labour.

The same arguments about splitting the vote were being made by the Tories when Reform started.

Farage could stop Restore by merging but he's the one who kicked Lowe out and supported the lies to try to imprison him.

It's all in Farage's lap.

As for Farage and change.....He literally brought Nadine Dorries into Reform who wrote up the 'Online Safety Bill', he has ex Labour party MPs in Reform.

I'm highly skeptical that Reform are actually Reform......Yes, Lowe is an attack dog and has caused Reform to shift right.....but obviously they wanted to shift centre and if in power what's stopping them doing that?

I would prefer both Reform and Restore to merge but until 2029 it doesn't really matter.

If they both care about this country as much as they claim, then a truce is the way to prove it.

Fingers crossed.

Regardless at the general election I'll vote for whatever party is strongest placed to get rid of the left.
To get rid of them you first need to have them.

By no stretch of the imagination can today’s Labour Party truly be regarded as “the left”. Left of centre certainty but still in the centre. Only those on the hard right think otherwise. People who think Reform are centrists.

Once Burnham hitches the Labour Party to an eventual rejoining of the EU they will secure a huge boost from the 48% who never wanted to leave and regard much of our current situation as the direct responsibility of Farage’s lies. The Tories ought to get there first, rather than enter a three way fight for the minority group on the right.

Good to see you giving him a chance; that's what we like to see.
I don't really think Burnham is of the calibre to do anything. And his plans seem made out of thin air. I don't know what else to say. I don't think he's somehow going to improve much. I'll say I prefer him to Starmer. Just on personal appeal more than anything else.
It's not really my remit to give him a chance. He needs to make those chances for himself.

Yes but he's not even in office yet!

I mean, come on mate.

I'd say it's everyone's remit not to write people off before they've even taken up office.

Well, maybe it's just me that thinks this but people are so tribal and it's preposterous.

You mean like you have to the right wing on the other thread.

It's not me being tribal. I was always Labour until Blair. I'm quite willing to change. Just don't really think Burnham is much. I'm certain Starmer is rubbish. Burnham maybe slightly better than him but even that is a slight stretch. He's being all things to all people right now. When in office he'll likely just have to be all things to the opposing factions of his party.
I think I am allowed my own opinion on it.

Burnham will have to win a war against the left wing MPs, many of whom are first timers. Let's see if their fear of losing their seat and a salary they could never dream of in the real world will be enough for them to abandon the " principles " they has against for example TTK's attempt to limit future welfare increases.

The key will be if they really believe Burnham can win the next GE, a plague on all their houses.

Of course you are, as am I to comment on it, mate.

The biggest load of nonsense I've ever heard.

All to distract from what Lowe actually said on that podcast.

Because it puts this so called caring establishment to shame.

It's the only thing the establishment could find to pull him up on. Probably an honest slip by Lowe.

I listened earlier to it and I pretty much agree with Lowe on everything. You can see why farage pushed him out as he doesn't hold back and would alienate the middle of the road voters.
