Glasner to Forest

Pereira has officially left Notts Forest using the 'mutual break clause', whatever that is . . .

Source: SSN

It was written into his contract that either he or Forest could terminate the contract by July.

He was informed at 11.58pm on the 30th June via email!!! Class behaviour from their owner again.

He had just met the Forest owner in London not long before to talk about transfer plans. That’s why he said he felt ‘blindsided’ but had no complaints as it was what both parties had agreed to.

I suspect an official announcement regards Glasner's appointment at Nottm Forest will not be long in coming.
Another factor in his going to Forest is the, rumoured, £13m pa salary the fat Greek has offered to pay him - that's over twice as much as we were paying him. Ludicrous money in crazy times. If true, this apparently makes him the 4th highest paid manager in world football.

Who wouldn't accept an offer like that?

I very much doubt that his remuneration is of that elevated level.

Forest should be feeling very lucky to have got Glasner, no doubt he was trying to get a champions league club but nothing materialised.

That being said, Marinakis will back him appropriately especially with the money from Elliott Anderson deal. But, he will demand success (ie either a trophy or CL qualification) given the money he is paid.

If he comes calling for any of our players, I'm not sure that many will see Forest as the best for them at this point. The exception being Kamada, possibly Mateta (though I think he wants a top European club).

We just need to concentrate on our new manager now and what we are going to do with our squad, as it needs improvement this summer.

With the greatest of respect I have an alternative viewpoint.
Glasner honoured his contract and was then free to negotiate with any club and join a club of his choosing. He was under no obligation to prohibit entertaining advances from a club owing to 'History' between that club and his erstwhile employers.
I do not recall Coppell being labelled "Disrespectful" when he took up the reins at Brighton.
I do, he is a narcissist, he will go all out to win a domestic cup, and Bollox to the league, just so he can say. look at me, aren't i marvelous, no you are not, you Sir are a Cad, Bounder and Blighter of the highest order

likewise, if any Palace players follow, why would loyalty count for anything ?

It's all about contracts and maximising earnings.

You really should be showing your true feelings instead of holding back

Thank you EE for info. Mary Knickers behaviour does not surprise me in the slightest.

.. all true, but doesn't show a great deal of empathy toward Palace Fans. Granted, ultimately it doesn't matter and he can do what he likes, but don't stop us losing respect for him when he does stuff like this.

Why is anyone bothered where Glasner goes, he is no longer employed by Palace and didn't break any contract with us. Managers are just employees, most get sacked or leave under a cloud like Venables, Bruce, Dowie, Pulis and Allardyce.
I am more concerned how Sage is going to perform this season, that our future, the past has gone.

I wouldn’t say Allerdyce left under a cloud. He kept us up brilliantly and then he left, because of a health scare he later admitted.

Many people in Austria believe that he has completely misjudged the situation and overestimated his chances in the market. Nottingham is a stopgap measure to prevent him from fading into obscurity – and a risky one at that. If things go badly there – which would come as no surprise given Marinakis – Ollie’s reputation will be ruined in no time. I doubt that Nottingham is the new challenge he’s been constantly talking about and that he’s been hoping for. But anyway, good luck. He’ll need it, and he’s done a good job for us so no reason for Schadenfreude.

I really hope he has a very tight 2 year contract. If Mariakis outs him after 6 months, £25m will soften the blow.
