Lacroix

What!, James is on 200k a week, Re-signed 3 months ago, with a 70k increase, what do you think Lacroix thinks looking at that list
Players on big wages were there before the new regime. They won't be paying any new signings 200k.

They now have incentivised contracts.

Hopefully Johnson and or Nketiah !
Johnson needs a full season. He’s undoubtedly a good player, he just hasn't settled. As for Nketiah, he may well have a lot of talent but he's never fit enough to find out.

We need to sell while people still remember he was an Arsenal player, much admired by Arteta...

When I heard that we were about to purchase Nketiah and the price involved I genuinely believed that the chap was joshing and my response was "Pull the other one".
I had seen Nketiah 'Plough his furrow' for both Arsenal and Leeds and I was not overwhelmed by his performances. In fact I might have expressed these sentiments on HOL.

Your expressing is legendary you need a Boswell to record them.

Johnson is ‘undoubtedly a good player’? Can I have some of the drugs you’re on please ?!!

Do you not listen, they raised his salary by 70k in March and gave him a 7 year contract.

Oh my word, I accept your kind sentiments with good grace, humility and gratification, however I do not view my prose as being orotund or worthy of 'Legendary' status.
Words just emerge like flakes of 'Ready Brek' in a sea of skimmed milk.
Veneration should be aimed at all those who grace HOL with their wit, wisdom, knowledge and insight. I am not in such exalted company.

It's hard to listen to print. 🤣

Reese James is the captain and Chelsea's best player. He was given an incentivised pay rise.

As I said. No one joining Chelsea will be paid a massive wage.

Our top 4 earners earn over £100 or more millions. Lacroix could join them if we want to keep him.

It's the usual scenario with any of the top 6, they want crazy money for their offcasts & poor purchases, players they've deemed unworthy yet expect to get every top performer from lower teams for peanuts.
Its why i always am reluctant for Palace to sign castoffs from Giants. Arsenal always sell us expensive duds.

He did great at Bourmouth and was top goalscorer at Spurs. So he's capable of great performances. Clearly he hasn't settled here but if you get a big move to a top club and then despite being top goalscorer and scoring winning goals in a European final that club then turn round and say we don't want you, go to Palace, then that is bound to knock your confidence and confidence is exactly what is required for top performances.

He now has a good chance under a new manager to prove himself. I believe he will be good for us, once he's settled in with the team and gets his head down.

If I was Glasner, I would have given him a much better run in the team than he got. It doesn't help getting a half here and ten minutes there. That's what happened to Mateta. Roy clearly didn't fancy him and Viera thought he had better options but once we had to play him and he started getting minutes he came good under a manager who knew how to get the best out of him.

Sorloth is another example. Bit part minutes, equals a bit part player. Look at him now. Never really given a chance. If you can't make an immediate impact here you get written off. I have always said that a player needs a least a season to settle.

Look at Kamada, how many on here wrote him off before he had a chance to settle, now we cry because we can't hold on to him. He was clearly a major part in our recent success.

As for Lacroix, I took him a good few months to get to where he is with us now, to the point that all the noise about losing Guehi has gone..

I stand by my comments. No drugs involved.

You were not the only one to be shocked at that purchase.

I dunno, Chamakh kind of helped us stay up!! Holding was an awful buy & the jury's still out on Eddie, I think we were all buzzing when he got the winner against the scousers!

Probably the most I've ever celebrated a goal at selhurst than I can remember 😅 it's up there with ben watson last minute equaliser against millwall for me.
