Lacroix

He's our key centre back and our only one truly comfortable playing in the middle of a back 3, assuming we retain this system.
I believe the interest from Chelsea is genuine as it's being reported by a number of sources.
He plays every game for us, is remarkably consistent and rarely makes a mistake.
For me he's the glue rhat makes our defence work.
I'm unaware of a release clause and I think he has 3 years left on his contract.
I really hope we keep him.

If he goes it’s his choice and he can f*** off if he doesn’t want to play for us.

How about telling Chelsea it'll cost them Acheampong and Chalobah plus (say) £25m.

Richard’s looks good for the USA in the middle of a back three and has played there for us. Not saying I want Chelsea or anyone else getting him but Richard’s can play there with two other top players alongside him. Richard’s, Riad and Canvot will need a couple more signings to compete with but 50 plus million may be worth it?

Parish keeps selling our best players
Why not try to build on the team ?

Still in Europe & he’s wanting to divide the defense

Stop the talks he’s under contract we have a new season in a few months

Build on the current team to make a full squad for all trophies

Err because the players want to move on and they have all the power?

None of us like it but at least we can say the players that do go move onto a bigger club. I would be gutted if they going to West Ham or Leeds it really would be abut the money then.

Parish cant stop other clubs being interested in our players. If the player makes it clear he wants to go, its very difficult to stop them, they hold all the aces. Contracts dont hold onto players, it just helps getting a bigger fee.

Parish made the point we are not a destination club (yet).

Wat he meant was that players see Palace as a stepping stone to bigger clubs. He wants to change that of course but I doubt it will happen in my lifetime.

It’s true to say we are not a destination club and that to an extent we are a stepping stone for players to achieve their ambitions.
Nonetheless, Parish has previously mentioned staggering contracts so that we try and avoid losing more than one key player a season.
If Lacroix is sold that means we would have sold Eze, Guehi and Lacroix in less than a year with Mateta and Kamada likely to follow.
That’s 5 players and half of the team that won the FA Cup.
Now we couldn’t do anything about Eze (release clause) and Guehi’s contract was due to expire as will be the case with Kamada.
Little we can do.
If Mateta won’t sign a new contract then the club can take a decision to realise some value on Mateta , as they did with Guehi.

I see none of these selling pressures with Lacroix.

As an old chap I’ve seen the folly of clubs continually selling their best assets ( e.g Southampton with Van Dyke, Mane , Lalanna, Schneiderlin).
Eventually it catches up with you.
Furthermore, can anybody say honestly they are filled with confidence about future purchase policy to replace key assets?
Early days, but it’s I think it’s fair to say the jury is out on Hobbs & co at present.
