He is now under the microscope, his past hypocrisy is, although a good load, is not relevant now.

He is going to realise that the Govt is making things worse for the people, well those that work anyway.

He will need to cut expenditure, let's see where he goes with a baying pack of newly elected back bunch numpties to keep happy.

Whilst I look forward to Burnham being shown up for the clay feet he clearly has, I cannot but think that we are facing a much wider issue in terms of asking ourselves just why our Prime Ministers, of every shade, are just so f***ing s***? And have such little actual power over events?

I enjoy the 'game' as much as anybody but the issue is not so much if Burnham is shittier than Starmer or shittier than Johnson and so on but why they quite literally appear incapable of actually doing much of anything?

You might as well make Larry the Cat PM, he would do less damage and crack down on vermin.
The ridiculous selfie pic with MPs sums it up, he's a creature of the social media who thinks it's a popularity contest.

Lammy re-inventing himself as lifelong fan is hilarious, let's see others extract themselves from Starmer's bum cheeks and get up Andy's

Rather jumped the gun,he is at the moment a new M.P. he is not yet leader of the Labour Party. An opinion poll has asked the question which party would you vote for if he does become leader and the outcome was a Labour lead over Reform, as an aside the Reform hierarchy were interviewed on Sky News the body language was very telling if this was boxing then the towel has already been thrown in.

Who carried out the opinion poll and who commissioned it? OPs are generally useless and just used by interested parties to support their position.

Burnham got elected in Markfield because voters knew it would signal the end of Starmer .He wont have that voter in a GE .
In fact after it becomes obvious that Burnham ,the rape gang enabler ,is just as useless as Starmer at leading the party of chancer's it wouldn't surprise me if he lost his seat at the first time of asking .
Is any political party not ‘the party of chancers’?
they all are and some of the current lot active in this country are biggest we’ve ever had!!

I still can't get over the attitude of some over Starmer. According to friends and the BBS it's all the fault of Reform / racists/ Tories blah blah that Starmer has gone.

How about owning it. He's gone because he was stabbed in the back by his own MPs scared about losing their jobs in 3 years time.

Burnham's rise is totally down to the Labour Party. If they believed Starmer was doing a good job they had a big enough majority to ignore the negativity but self preservation has kicked in.

No man has greater love than to lay down another man's career for one's country.

The first opinion poll imagining if he was leader puts Labour in the lead I'm very happy to await confirmation at the next G.E. 😉 As for your assertion that he is a Rape Gang enabler he may choose to sue in court.

Nobody is on here, of course

Yet, there will be those, led of course by the scabrous Daily Mail et al, who are already gunning for him from before day one, no matter what he does or doesn't do. The Daily Mail: who give Nadine Dorries a weekly column ffs. How can anyone align themselves with that? Ha!

Obviously many on here, that's clear. Says it all heheh..

The only interesting thing about politics is the culture war sh1t.....because in truth it doesn't matter that much who runs the country outside of what social issues you prefer.....economically it's fecked.

If a party comes in and slashes welfare.....well obviously it's what welfare and how much. I'm sure people aren't keen for pensions to be slashed for example.

In truth the system requires radicalism, if it wants to survive long term. But we all saw what doing radical financial changes did for Truss.....She went for a radical growth plan and both the city and the left spent capital going after her and she was booted out by the men in grey suits before a month had passed.

If you try to deviate from the established system with all its interests....both corporate and welfare.....interests that I largely think are sucking this country into a dry husk of a corpse. Then you are fighting huge interests that will seek to destroy your Prime Minister ship.

Thatcher only just managed to do it back in 79.....but she had far more financial control then, much more than today.....today we are the market's b1tch.....Indeed the Tories eventually realised this with black Wednesday.

Most people don't realise the sheer extent of things, they think it's just a matter of changing who is in charge.....But we borrowed 24 billion from the markets just to pay for the month of May....up six billion from last year.

Like America....if I'm honest I think the time where it could have been rescued is gone and I think the elites understand that too.....but they are happy to lie to Joe Public to keep it going until it blows.

If someone was serious (like Musk started with DOGE before the system stopped him) then these figures require massively radical action to change, where pretty much everyone will be in financial pain......and few Turkeys vote for Xmas. But everyone thinks it's just going to be other guy who's going to pay out.

The truth of democracy means that everyone is going to continue sucking away at the system until it falls over.....it's always the other guy's fault.

The only people who aren't to blame are the ones fighting to stay above water.....because they didn't feck up the system....it was the democratic system that has inbuilt short termism which doesn't look beyond five years and of course the career politicians of all parties and the civil service running everything under them.

If this polling is solid, then I suspect Burnham will go with a potential early GE because he has such little wriggle room in terms of what he can actually do any different to Starmer that its more than possible within a year or so, Labour are back well behind again. And he will also know that he needs the tactical voting to play its part. Hence why I increasingly believe now that the EU will come back into play.

7 Prime ministers in 10 years in bonkers.
It's not the leader who runs the country, but the people that hold him accountable. Unfortunately, nowadays these people are the media; press, social or otherwise, pressure groups or those currently benefitting when they should not be. All looking for an Outrage. and there are ALWAYS people that lose out in every decision. Eventually and inevitably the leader will have been found to have done something outrageous enough for these people to call out, sometimes taking their party with them.

The country is in trouble; if they try to do something to actually fix the issues, it offends someone, gets castigated and that's the start of their downfall.

That's what I'm hoping for for the next government, Reform; Everyone expects outrage, so it may be harder to turf them out 🤣. but it'll probably be easier in reality.
