Palace Summer 2026 transfers?

Maitland Niles has been linked.
Looked destined for a great career a few years ago until he lost his way.
He's certainly a versatile, experienced and athletic player.
These are always useful in a squad where rotation is necessary.

Would question him as a starter bought to replace.

Would welcome him as a squad player who can earn that place.
 
We always celebrate the offloading of squad players like Ayew and Schlupp but for me you can only celebrate those departures when you bring in players that represent an upgrade, especially in terms of squad depth.

Whilst we malign the unexciting peripheral player, we've been exposed at times when we've had injuries or a relentless fixture list because we don't have an Ayew or Schlupp to mop up a few minutes. I think I'd feel the same about Lerma. I don't love him but he can take a few minutes during some hot spots, and can cover a couple of positions.

I would like to see us have a clear strategy either to find their replacements pro-actively or commit to blooding youngsters. Otherwise, keep those types of players in the squad if you can.
 
Unfortunately, Maitkand-Niles is 28 and really not that good. On a free, v with low wages fine. Otherwise a waste of time. He simply won't improve anything or provide much back up. I'm sorry - just my opinion of him.
We're linked to some awful Sage players so far. I hope all Edouard links are gone.
 
We're not linked to anyone that will actually improve what we have currently. Hopefully, someone's bothering to identify decent targets other than who Hobbs and Sage have worked with before.
Primarily because Hobbs was at Wolves - who are s***. And Sage seems to be linked to Ligue 1 journeymen so far.

He must be a wonderful manager to get Lens to second place with awful players I cannot wait for the season to start!

It's the French league and one of the stand out players was Edouard so don't get too carried away.
Despite some opinions, the French league is just PSG. With some occasional good players at other sides who Man City buy.

I was getting very excited, a Premier championship trophy to add to our burgeoning collection of silverware. 😉
 
It's about time we move beyond this just filling squad numbers and backup players.

Should be signing people to compete with each other this is how the club moves forward otherwise what really is the point.

The same with re signing contract wise people who are past it or are not competing for starting spots.
