They've been in the champions league 2 of the last 3 seasons haven't they ? won a league cup, I think against us they bought on about 300 million off the bench, but they're still far off the well established big clubs.

The Peter Gabriel/Thompson Twins/Undertones was I think the same gig......

There also used to be Reggae Sun splash at the ground for a few years in the 80's

The ground is now not suited for concerts due to it's design and its location in a residential area. Also there is the Palace Bowl locally that has now been resurrected as a music venue.

Equally I can't see anyone using it as a venue for corporate events as it's not as well connected as other sports grounds (have been to events at Emirates and Kia Oval both of which are far easier to get to.

So it's football or bust

Correct, but at least it's a step in the right direction. Next step would be to buy up the remaining houses in Park Road and build a new (2 tier) stand to replace the Arthur.

Just a thought and so it will remain, if we want a significantly bigger stadium we need to move, it's as simple as that

Plus its unrealistic expectations for anyone to believe we should or could challenge the top 6, no one expects that. But compare us to West ham, take prem money away from us and we're no bigger than any other club in the championship and could easily spend years languishing there if we ever get relegated. West ham are far bigger than any championship club and wont spend many seasons out of the top flight, thats where we should aspire to be.

The last 2 seasons have been the best in the clubs history and the perfect time to attract new fans but our stadium has prevented us from doing that.

I agree, I'm not suggesting that the new stand plus a new Arthur will suddenly make us serious challengers to the big 6, but if we want to remain competitive in the PL we have to increase our capacity as much as we realistically can.

I agree with you, I was meant to quote the same post as you from Painter.
 
When this stand gets done we will have a 34500 capacity venue with one modern stand with corporate facilities, one large two tier stand without any facilities and one large shallow stand, also without facilities, both of which are amongst the few left in the country to offer restricted view tickets. Plus the Whitehorse, which would do a fine job for a conference club.

Whether it's matchday income, hosting international games, holding events, or just our entry in a premier league club dick-swinging contest, selhurst will not be causing too many above us to lose much sleep.

As I've said, it's worth doing, but it isn't about closing any gaps to anyone above us. Whatever we make from it they are already making plus more and will continue to do so.

Do know about corporate events and Parish , think I stand by my comments it raises profile , showing early 80s doesn't even come into it , would say 51k but thats pointless stadiums have moved on do you want us to stagnant

2 of the Americans have wanted out for a while it's not something new.

The club already took out the loan for it.

Woody is not going to buy both of those others shares and to think he can get them for 150m is delusional it cost him around 190m which was at a cut price to purchase just Tex stake.

Doesn't matter what the Jets are valued at that sport is nothing like English Premier league just look at Harris/Blitzer they have stakes in multi different Americans sports with top value close to 15 billion.

No it wont you have been listening to the BS sales pitch SP has been putting out many have looked at the math it will take Palace 15-20 years to just cover the cost of the work being done on the stand at the current figures of around 200m and expect that price to keep increasing.

Pay no attention to AI nonsense either it gives answers based of what it is fed most times the sources are poor quality or selected for purposes.

Spot on with every point it must be end of the world I am agreeing with you.

Even Newcastle are looking at either building new ground or expanding current one because you need big grounds something Palace can not do on the current site (At most they may get up to 40-45 if they did all the stands at what price it makes 0 sense)
