i know. If any ex-Palace player is going to win one or more Ballon d'ors, it's him - in my book the best player to ever have played for us. What an assist for Mbappe's goal.Olise. f*** me. How did this bloke ever play for us?

I would now put him above Eddie McGoldrick.i know. If any ex-Palace player is going to win one or more Ballon d'ors, it's him - in my book the best player to ever have played for us. What an assist for Mbappe's goal.

For me he wins it this year. It's between Olise and Kane in my opinion, but with Olise topping it. He's been sensational. Bayern have been so good to watch with the pair of them playing.i know. Olise. f*** me. How did this bloke ever play for us?
More like how the F did we ever agree to allow such a low release clause & no extra terms on top got to be the best signing ever for only 50m from Bayern.
This guy must be worth 200m+ easy now

...and the better team in the 1st half - should have gone in at HT in the lead (what a miss by Sarr). France are class but Senegal look at handful and I expect them to do well.France look good.
Strong at the back.
Loads of pace further forward to get on the end of Olise's beautifully weighted passes.
Senegal also looked quite good in the first 60 minutes with lots of strength and athleticism.
Not Sarr's best day in terms of output, but he still looked a threat.

In the position he was in at the time, it's not as clear cut as that.I think it's been said 100 times. If we didn't agree to the relatively low release fee, then he simply doesn't sign for us. Simples.
He did to be fair to him, renew his contract with a slightly higher release clause.
No but by the time he negotiated his contract extension and new release clause (the one he went to Bayern under) he was getting a load of interest from big clubs. Most speculation that summer was about him going to Chelsea. In the position he was in at the time, it's not as clear cut as that.
Nobody else was particularly interested. He'd been knocked back by all the "big clubs" prior to that. Do you think he would have just stayed at Reading another three years? His development wouldn't have been the same if he did.
