I read earlier that he set a new World Cup record in yesterday’s game.

83 passes attempted and 83 passes completed!! Highest 100% pass completion in a World Cup game since 1966 (when presumably they started counting things like this).

Probably 82 of them sideways to the other centre back 🤣

The modern game I’m afraid, pass pass pass across the back, tippy tappy I think it’s called 🤣we love Chris but we know from experience the odd one goes astray in dangerous positions

While we’re on the subject of pointless stats, check out the stats for the Australia v Turkey game, I didn’t watch it, but it looks like Turkey battered them, but will the Aussies care? There’s only one stat that matters in football

Yep and especially for that forward 'pass' to Mateta in the Cup final.

I watched most of it and the Aussie keeper was outstanding. Popovic gave him his first game ever. Now that is brave.

With Popovic and the Jedi I’m rooting for the Aussies. Which during the ashes is not something I find myself saying 🤣

I like Richards. But miles behind Guehi and Lacroix for me.
Think there’s loads of big lumps playing Sunday football that can tackle and decent in the air.
Disagree. Guehi has superior positional sense, something our current CB's haven't got. Now Lacroix is superb in spotting trouble & covering the other players in the box, snuffs out attacks if you like.

Richards is the best header of the ball in the entire squad. Long throw is a bonus. He has the added worry that he has to cover Munoz. He also knows, Lacroix is there to cover & vice versa.

Canvot, great prospect, made awful mistakes, but has been covered & encouraged by his fellow defenders & christ he's made leaps & bounds, don't forget, his natural position is on the right.

Riad, coming good was bought to replace Guehi, never been given a chance by most posters because the think he is 'injury prone" one injury, ONE jeez smell the coffee guys(I'm atea drinker). A

Not so impressive in respect of offensive headers, attacking the ball in the air in the opponents penalty area !!
Overall he has made a positive contribution in the defence and has proved to be an astute signing, costing £8.5 Mill rising to £11 Mill.
