This rumour has been going on a while. Another year or so and it could be true.
If we didn't have Johnson I'd be inclined to take the expensive risk. But we do...so I don't think we can afford the risk of two expensive flops!

Everyone else seems to be Robertson, Senesi with Van Hecke and Savinho on the wanted list.
I'd rather not think about losing Sarr if I'm honest 😂 already worried about bids coming in for Wharton, Lacroix, Munoz etc.
If Sarr and Mateta leave and we have to pin all our hopes on Johnson, JSL and Sancho providing the firepower then Monsieur Sage is going to have to be one hell of a manager!

I really can't see this happening he has always been on high wages.
The other thing is we always hear from Palace about attitude etc is important this guy comes across as not being great in that department.

I get the impression that he may see himself still too big for a mid table club.
A move back to Dortmund on a free but with vastly reduced wages looks more likely.

Agree, dont think he'll want to lower himself to us yet.
If he's willing to drop to c£50k, Im sure there will be plenty of big clubs across Europe that would take a gamble on him.

If you put financial considerations aside; he should be in his prime at 26, does have talent, is a 'South Londoner', has played at a very high level and has a point to prove.
On the other hand, he's gone consitently downhill since his Dortmund days, and if rumours are to be believed, his attitude is in the basement along with his confidence now.
So on that basis I would take him but I'm guessing it's a long shot for him to join us anyway, plus the finances will probably stop any considerations in their tracks.

Whenever I have witnessed Sancho 'Plying his trade' in the PL, I have not been overly impressed by his performances.
