I wouldn’t be surprised if Lens are demanding £10m or so given they they have all the power. Chelsea paid Brighton double that for Graham Potter.

Whatever Lens are asking for, even whether it be a lot less than that, the club will be trying to negotiate it down and reduce risk, possibly with the inclusion of add ons. That could take time.
They dont have ANY power. If their demands are too high we move on to other targets and they are stuck paying a manager that wants to quit and who's position at Lens by their own words has become 'untenable'
Palace will probably look at whats fair, add 20% to get it done and make it clear we'll walk away if they dont agree.

Well I'd say they have some power. Especially if he's our current first choice.

Granted they dont want a pissed off manager and backroom staff, but they can still hold out for what they think is right.

I think it’s every football fans divine right to moan and demand more from their club but what Steve Parish has delivered for us, as Palace fans, is f-ing insane. What’s even more insane is when this is seemingly completely forgotten by some.

I really do think the complexity of owning and running a football club, or even something as seemingly routine as appointing a manager, goes far beyond any of our comprehension.

I know how I’d like things to be done but I’m quite content in also knowing there’s a very good reason I am not in charge of these decisions.

COYP - a little bit of faith can get you a long way
One of the few observations Simon Jordan has made numerous times about all football fans but his experience of Palace fans in particular is it doesn't matter how well you do, what players you sign or how outrageously the success achieved, five minutes later many fans are moaning they didn't get more.
I personally think Palace fans are more patient than most but it is true that the expectaion levels of some are always higher than where the club currently is regardless of what we achieve

Agree 100% but Parish is not Ron Noades or Ken Bates. I believe he'll try to be fair and might even offer a bit more than whats fair to oil the wheels.
