Claude Puel was manager of Nice before being appointed Southampton manager. In his opening season at Southampton they finished 8th in the PL, having finished 6th the season before under Ronald Koeman.Southampton also reached the League Cup Final.
He was relieved of his duties at Southampton at the end of this season.

Whoever comes in gets 18 league games before i judge 👍or👎, not that my opinion means anything but as long as i am not dead, you will hear it, like it or not 😊

Quite a few of the videos and articles analysing Sage's style at Lens says there's a lot of similarities to Glasners's Palace. Just warning you now Lanzo 😬😜

If he does come, I do expect us to be very similar to the last two years tactically.

From what I've read I think the main differences will be Sage is a bit more trusting of youth and squad players. Although Glasners's tactical rigidity did become a problem at times it was clearly also his strength. I think his downfall in the 'difficult times' was more that he continued to play knackered players rather than let fresh ones make mistakes within the system i.e Uche, Esse, youngsters who got thrown under the bus. So hopefully Sage could improve that side of our game. The flipside is can he motivate and organise players as well as Glasner did. The players comments towards Oli on his departure speak clearly of how highly regarded he was.

Interesting times ahead with a new manager coming in. I like what I've heard so far about Sage so I'd be quite happy to get him in. If he does do well though, I don't think we can expect him to be around for long, as he seems to be happy to ditch Lens sharpish after one fantastic season!

Kevin Hatchard, the european expert on talksport was talking about Sage yesterday, he thinks Sage is the business.

Only on HOL can the magic roundabout get a mention in a discussion about our new manager🤣😎
Well the programme was originally French, Le Manege Enchante and was sold to the BBC . The French scripts though had to be completely re-written into English with story lines more suitable for children .

The french originals included story lines of wife swapping and other adult themes which attracted a cult following in France

🤐

Has he joined yet ?

If Sage does join will he prove to be another De Boer or another Glasner?
It's all in the lap of the gods.

In which case , at least we've got strong links through Joel Ward and Lacroix and perhaps even Guehi would put in a word.

Not a problem as long he is a bit more flexible, particularly in home games

Now you've got me going down a rabbit hole... but it seems this is an urban myth:
"Viewers humorously theorized that the show’s surreal, bohemian setup and close-knit cast of characters—including the shaggy dog Dougal, the hippy rabbit Dylan, the cow Ermintrude, and the young girl Florence—were secretly a metaphor for a swinging or wife-swapping commune. However, this is entirely a myth. The program was actually a re-dubbed and re-scripted version of a wholesome French children's show called Le Manège enchanté, with the famously dry and witty English scripts written and narrated by actor Eric Thompson. The accusations were never grounded in the show's actual content."

However the episode of Wallace and Gromit where they bukkake the woman next door is entirely true.

Eric Thompson is Emma's dad.

That's interesting, I read a thing on the BBC that said Sage liked his team to attack quickly and directly upon regaining possession, and that he also liked them to press high if they could.

I think quite a lot of French teams bring through youth players. Not sure if that's because they trust them more than we do or because they are coming into a lower standard league, with a lot of other youngsters in it because developing and selling them is such a critical part of the French football economy.

I don't think Palace would be first choice for Managers of the success and experience people are looking for. Much like our players, we'll probably go for a manager with potential, that is looking for a step-up and making a name for themselves.
