Parish must appoint a manager who will give youngsters a chance and not because injuries decimate the squad. I have seen too many good youngsters written off because they didn’t settle immediately in first team training. Most ended up National League or below. Even young signings were written off too early with Sorloth and O’Brien being recent examples. SP has made a promise to the youngsters but will the new manager comply?

if they ended up in the national league or below that probably tells you that the manager was right. Roy obviously got it wrong with Sorloth and others who didn't get a chance under him (Mateta) but that was part of Roy's weakness.

Sorloth took about 3 further years before he came good. Time we don't have. O'Brien was sold to appease Textor although I suspect you are correct that Roy didn't rate either.

As for your comments about youngsters being written off your 2 examples Sorloth and O'Brien go against that. If they are good enough they will make it, hopefully at Palace, if they can only manage the National league you have your answer.

There's lots of players that just don't show enough in the early days to work with in there careers , O'brien I wasn't sure plus the players we had wasn't going tobe easy to get in the team ,

We always try sending youngsters out on loan to a level , which could help them to improve ,

The only criteria for playing should be that you are good enough. If our younger players are good enough then great. If they aren’t then they shouldn’t be playing. We’ve given younger players a chance, notably Eze, Olise and Wharton. They just are players we purchased due to their quality. What we haven’t seen since AWB is a player come through our academy who is good enough. That’s ok. The overwhelming majority of players won’t be.

I will flag up Mitchell but recognise that he was only with us due to Brentford closing their academy - but he was 16 when he joined
