Palace Summer 2026 transfers?

Do you think Kamada and Wharton both will leave this summer? Kamada contract ends next month. I think if Kamada leaves Palace will probably keep Wharton for one final season. He has a contract till 2029 he will probably not sign a new contract. So I can see Palace selling him in Summer 2027. I hope Lerma stays for another season. Hopefully Doucoure plays more next season but considering how long he is out for next season 2026/27 if he stays fit will mostly be bench appearances coming on last 30 minutes for most games. Also Mateta's contract is up next summer surely Palace will not let him go on a free and they will probably sell him to avoid losing him on a free.

Incomings - hard to see Palace spending a lot of money as they did spend in January (Johnson and Strand Larsen). Guessand could sign permanently in the summer. Who can you see Palace buying this summer? Definitely need another back up LB and RB. If Mitchell or Munoz gets injured who is the back up? Rio Cardines could do a good job as LWB (back up to Mitchell). Also need another DM Hackney would be perfect from Boro. Interesting to see who the manager is and if they stick with the 3-4-2-1 or go to a different formation (4-2-3-1) or (4-3-3). I think both formations could work for Palace.

Current team next season without major transfers (3-4-2-1): Henderson, Richards, Lacroix, Canvot, Mitchell, Wharton, Hughes, Munoz, Sarr, Strand Larsen, Pino

(4-2-3-1): Henderson, Mitchell, Lacroix, Canvot, Munoz, Wharton, Hughes, Sarr, Pino, Guessand, Strand Larsen.

Hopefully Palace improve the squad significantly finishing 15th was poor considering the talent Palace have.

Considering that Guehi, Olise and Eze was sold in the last few years for pure profit Palace should have a lot of headroom to spend (Summer 2026). Also considering this is the summer they will probably sell Mateta (won't sign a new contract) they will look for £25m+ at least. Considering he cost £11m to Palace that would also be huge profit. Also if Wharton does not leave this season, most likely he will leave Summer 2027 bought for about £20m Palace could easily get £50m+ for him if he has another great season. So another huge profit if they decide to sell in Summer 2027. If someone like Lacroix also gets sold next summer another profit on Palace's books. So Palace could easily spend £100-£150m this summer without breaching SCR. But knowing the board it will most likely be £30-£70m max. As long as Palace improve their squad that is the main thing (whether it is free transfers, loan players) the squad requires a lot more depth.

Unless an absolutely off the scale offer was made for Wharton, he isn’t likely to go yet, unless he agitated then who knows. After the business in January with Mateta, I would expect him to go, he wanted out then, and for the club to get a fee it’s the right time. Kamada, hasn’t signed a contract, could be he is gone, which is a shame. Palace certainly can’t wait to long to know, or he won’t get replaced with someone as decent.
I don’t know where the money comes from but I get the feeling we will be spending, if only because we have to.

From next season SCR (Squad Cost Rules) replaces PSR (Profit and Sustainability).
As we will be in Europe, this will limit our spending to 70% of our total football-related revenue.
Clubs not competing in Europe are allowed 85%.
There is a 'Buffer Zone' which is up to 30% over the baseline threshold but clubs will have to pay a financial levy.

I am 100% certain Wharton will not leave, 1, he doesn't want to yet, he knows he needs another year, 2, nobody will pay the money Parish wants.

I am not expecting a Wharton departure but I will not be surprised if Mateta and Kamada move to 'Pastures new'.
The new manager will of course have his own assessment of the squad and perhaps there will be some departures to fund players to fit his style of playing.

Your post sums up the situation well: the squad is molten. Of the likely first choice XI today, I only see the following players as settled:

Henderson
Mitchell
Canvot
Riad
Hughes
Sarr
Strand Larsen
Pino

By settled I mean they have only been here a short time or they are in the middle of a larger contract with little prospect of a huge offer coming in. This means the likes of Mateta, Kamada, Wharton, Lerma, LaCroix, Richards, and maybe others could easily agitate for a move or have in some cases already decided to move on.

It is also possible that players on the "settled" list will have attracted more attention.

If Hughes is the only midfielder we can be sure to be a starter we are in trouble both in terms of quality and quantity. There has been no indication I have seen that Wharton or Richards want to go and Parish would certainly be asking a lot for Lacroix. The others may well move on, but Kamada will be 30 when the new season starts and will be pushed to get a move where he is a starter for a team in the Europa/Champions League and paying what he gets now. Mateta is virtually a must-sell but Johnson/Larsen/Nketiah is a worry for all of us. Munoz is still great but if a good offer comes in, I can see him moving on to a bigger club whilst he still has a couple of good years in him

Harry Wilson please
Swap Nketiah or Johnson for Jesus (at least it would stop him scoring against us)
Re-sign Kamada
Give Wharton a new contract, payrise and set a high buy-out clause
JP has a change of mind and signs a new contract

That's just for starters and no transfer fees laid out.

Now we have become only the 12th English club to win a (f***) Uefa European trophy hopefully the top players will see Palace as a destination rather than a stepping stone club?

You'd like to think so in some cases.

The connected and deeper issue for me is how we are going to identify the right players wanting to head to that destination. For a while we had a great period with Anderson, Guehi, Henderson (not forgetting Sam Johnstone), Munoz, Olise, Eze, Mateta (eventually), Wharton.

Ok there were also some non starters along the way but the hit rate was good and the sums outlayed were also very reasonable.

Current direction of travel seems to be looking at Wolves players and established top league players who (1) are premium priced and (2) haven't hit the ground running to put it mildly (Nketiah; Johnson; jury is out on Strand Larsen). Sarr seems to be the one clear exception (and hopefully Pino next year).

The common demoninator is Hobbs. What I would not give to get Freedman back in.

Looks like we could be more active on the Brazilian market if this is true. Just need to make sure that any potential arrivals have more of an impact than França (despite the fact I'm still desperate to see him succeed... But it's not looking too promising).

I saw this interview with the P the other day and it sounded to me like he's already skirting around reasons (or "excuses") for not bringing anybody in.

As much as many of us would like to see a solid "second team" created to be competitive in all competitions I can see us only making signings to replace those who leave. i.e. don't get too excited.

"Well hopefully not too busy [in the transfer window].

Obviously, you know, we need to add. I don't think it's a great thing if you change too much of the squad. I think everybody would say that we've got a really good squad. You know, we spent big in January, but there are definitely positions where we need to strengthen and there's some positives. Rio came in last week, young lad, and did absolutely brilliantly right back and, and, you know, I think he can help us there and you know, in the squad and we're looking at that...
...But, you know, there are positions that we need um and we're gonna have to fill them and we're going to try and do the best we can."

What id like to see from Palace in Augest only if these players we're leave or ideal choices

Lacriox > Ousmane Diomande , Axel Disasi, Ismaël Doukouré i chose Disasi and Doukouré because i feel like they can be amazing role models and partnership to Canvot to help him ease into the squad better with there french connection

Wharton > Hayden Hackney pretty ideal basically simular to wharton in being a Championship player Young and english

Kamada > Ao Tanaka i feel like he plays pretty simular to kamada has some amazing runs scores some good goals

Mateta > my ideal choice would be Emmanuel Emegha but i dont think that'll happen i wouldnt mind Vipotnik or Divin Mubama
Vipotnik Smashed it in the championship last year and i think he's also going to be quite cheap

Guessand on Perm for Sure
Can't remember if ive missed any other players id want to see out of the list

I'd like to see Nketiah offloaded, but that is looking less likely given his injuries. Mateta will go anyway, and hopefully with an increased price with a good world cup showing.

I'd like us to bring in Jonathan David from Juventus (in fact there may be a deal to be done with Mateta on that one).

Backup options for the full backs, may now be with youth players with Imray as backup RB, and cardines as backup lb. Not sure what future Sosa has, will probably be assessed by the new manager. Clyne may now be at the end of his second spell at Palace.

What we really need are midfielders, and goal scoring ones at that. We were linked with Joe Willock at Newcastle, and that would seem a reasonable option. We need another goalscoring midfielder as well as Willock, given our Europa League qualification. I would have said Fernandes from West Ham but it's silly money being quoted. Need to look elsewhere.

I would only bring in Hackney if Wharton left.

Zian Flemming of Burnley has built a reputation as a goal scoring midfielder, he can also be deployed as a striker.
He has scored all types of goals and prior to joining Millwall he scored 25 goals from 62 games for Fortuna Sittard and provided 11 assists.
He has a long throw which was hardly deployed when he was playing abroad.

Joe Willock does not have an impressive goal scoring record for Newcastle the last 2 seasons, in fact never scored for the club in the PL the season just ended.
He might have of course featured from the 'Bench' in most of his appearances.

From an absolutely funny side can we now offer a contract to the winger we didn’t follow up on & his girlfriend

But only if they are still together, if she’s up & left him for a London club player already then see if she’s interested in a contract emptying the bins at Selhurst

Flemming is an out and out striker.
