Not sure I like the look of Sage, he appears overweight and unshaven - but, can't judge a book by the cover an' all that. Just hope that, if he is the chosen one, his tactical nous, playing style and personality are a step up on his appearance.

Bill Shankly look like old man Steptoe but I would give him a chance here.

Back in the day I used to work with a colleague who refused to hire candidates who turned up at interviews with unpolished shoes.
He insisted that standards must be maintained.
 
If we do get Sage then, step into the unknown though he would be, I suppose at least its not like there is some other, outstanding candidate of our dreams that we overlooked or didn't try hard enough for. That man was Iraola, and the club did seemingly try. After him, the other candidates all seem much of a muchness in terms of overall appeal, albeit a very mixed bag in terms of experience and background.

Plus, its not like Dyche is going anywhere. We can always call on him in December if it all goes tits up with Sage!
 
I'm sure he knows his onions 😒 , just thought I'd say it to save other people the bother, and he should be able to de-liver, there's the rub, nobody will be owling with laughter. "Are you going to Selhurst Park? Parsley, SAGE, rosemary and thyme ..." etc..

I applaud your colleague. Standards must be maintained.
I recall the days when candidates used to be dressed to the nines, tie NOT askew, hair well groomed and shoes polished to a shiny buff.
Such is the look of Steve Parish, slender as a gazelle, straight off a film set.
