Looks like IFAB are going to be tough on, among other things , wrestling during corners and time wasting in WC matches. No bad thing as far as I'm concerned.

In the 'Good old days' there were referees and linesmen.
These days there are match referees, 4th officials, assistants, VAR, Assistant VAR's etc etc. Furthermore with all the newly introduced time constraints there will be need for dedicated time keepers sponsored by Tissot !!!!
I note the VAR 'Mission creep' and I for one do not welcome the extension of powers ! Probably require even more VAR's at Stockley Park covering a game.😳😳

I'm in full agreement with you Willo. The abundance of officials for a game of football is becoming cumbersome to say the least. VAR has spoilt the spontaneity as we've written on here before, but unfortunately referees alone have lost control in some areas of the game viz the rough and tumble of corners.

Far be it that either of us would advocate a return of a referee and two linesmen to run a game, but if these proposed rule changes extend into the PL next season then I'm in agreement.

Come on lads. Don't be conned. This is for TV advert time. Usual absolute bullshit in the USA. Arab bullshit up next. Will be drink: then won't be drink. Fans being gaslighted.
Cor blimey guv, bit cynical aren't we. Yep, I know the enforced water breaks (whatever the weather) are clearly being used for quick ad breaks, but let's agree that something needs to be done about the current ploy of time wasting and wrestling in the penalty area before a corner.

They only benefit i can see w is that is more difficult for a ref to be obviously bent, not impossible, but harder.

This new substitution law is going to catch an awful lot of people out. Japan's match v Iceland on Sunday just gone a point in case. Iceland wanted to make a sub about 84mins scores 0-0, player took too long to leave the field so the sub had to wait a minimum of 1 minute. As there was no natural break in play, Japan scored & the sub had waited 1' 54" before being allowed on.

Time constraints for substitutions, throw-ins etc, what a load of balderdash.
👎 👎 😡
