Mateta to AC Milan?

I think he stays. AC Milan are in Europa League. Same as Palace.

He's the main man here, scoring goals, starting all the big games and getting selected to play for France. He seems happy (the bloke is bonkers) and the fans have forgiven him. We need to get the new manager over the line asap and to sit him down. The grass is already green at Selhurst Park.

Milan are a bigger club of course, but play in a lesser league and I doubt they can match the money we can offer him.

At his age, I can't see a 'big' Champions League club coming in for him.

New two year contract to be signed. Assess in a years time. The European money helps.
Completely round the bend, but loveable!!

They have cost us a sum which could reach £65 Million !
Completely crazy. As you can tell, I just dont get it.
Offer Mateta the same money as Larsen (£125k/wk), and a two year contract, and Im sure he would stay. I dont see anyone else offering him north of £125k/week. Mind you, I doubt Larsen would get close to that anywhere else. We must have a mad professor hidden away somewhere making all our decisions.

Considering Larsen is bing paid more than double Mateta's wages, it must be a tough one for him to absorb. Crazy world football.
If I was Mateta I would move to who pays the most. He needs to think of his future and max out.
The fact JSL is on so much compared to him isn’t right. Even more wrong is that Brenner Johnson is I believe second highest paid on £120k a week. I would like to see Johnson sold back to Forest for whatever we can get.
We missed a trick when we didn’t go for Watkins a few years ago despite many singing his praises. Not many of us were happy with the Johnson deal.

Isn't it the Wolves guy who did their recruitment that ultimately led to relegation?

Matt Hobbs. Not a great record to date. Just going back to your old club doesn't show too much imagination.
Anyway Mateta has been offered a new deal, just not what he wants. He has chosen to run down his existing low contract. It's a bit like the Guehi situation.

We have gained £20m of prize money from winning the Conference League, so maybe we can afford to keep him.

He looks very happy to be playing for us and fair play to him, he got his head down, worked his way back into the side and has performed for us.

The players love him too, where else would you see a team doing someone's celebration in sync, including the striker, who was bought in to replace him, only to end up his understudy?

Apart from Lerma, I'm having trouble recognising the players in this photo

We've already spent the Mateta money on Larsen, so he'll have to be sold.
And I assume we bought Larsen because all the noise was around Mateta leaving for Milan, in fact he failed the medical. So I can understand the purchase; it’s just bizarre that it’s Mateta who had reverted to playing his best with Larsen being on hhe bench most of the time.

Yeah, Larsen was clearly supposed to be the replacement for Mateta. I suppose it's possible for palace to have both on the books, and Nketiah too, but seems like a bit of a luxury to have three for one spot, especially once we are out of Europe.
