At what point do you call time on a player whom is not meeting expectations ?

That’s costing a shed load weekly in wages yet other players put in & carve out results but on a lower wage.

At some point players do question fellow team players on input vs payments !

Onana fumbled it over the line. Johnson just happened to be standing nearby. He has now gone well over 1500 minutes without scoring just in the league, by far the worst spell of his career. The only straws to hang on to are that he had a slow start at Spurs and a new manager may utilize hem better. I can't see him ever being other than a costly sub: and that's a best scenario

In his first season at Tottenham Johnson scored 5 goals in his first 34 games for the club.

He took up a position in the middle of the goal near the 6-yard box, the cross diverted off Shaw's chest and Johnson bundled it past Onana from close range.
 
The idea that we should give up on Johnson is all very well but as has been pointed out on here before, he's not like a dog some idiot bought for Xmas and then thought better of. We can't just take him to the beach and leave him there.

We'd have to find someone to buy him and he'd most likely only move for similar wages. Who the hell is going to stump up that sort of money for him?

This is why expensive mistakes are so significant. They last.

It's what makes it all the more infuriating that after we had decent success in moving away from overspending on Prem 'stars' like Benteke and Sakho by moving to buying up and coming talent from the Championship. We then did a full 180 and spunked close to 90m on two players who are basically just average squad players. I think they'll both do 'ok' for us, it's just galling to think we could easily have found two players who'd contribute as much for probably about a third of the price.
 
Just watched Arsenal and they gave Declan Rice MOTM...he had 96 touches.
Made me wonder if Brennan has ever had more than 9.6 touches.
Reminds me a bit of Pardew before we forgave him for being s*** by heading in the semi final goal and playing a great ball with the outside of his boot (Brian Moore absolutely loved that).
You do seem to get these anonymous players...Gary Stebbing used to come off with immaculately clean shorts.
We've had quite a few who have a really terrible touch....but I can't ever remember someone so massively anonymous. It's quite a talent.

Also spaffed money on Esse and Franca. So buying potential doesn’t always work. I’m sure there are others…
