welcome to Brennan Johnson

The worrying sign for me was his performance for Wales in the WC playoff when he looked totally lost and disinterested in a game that meant everything to the nation of his birth.

He has not done anything IMO in 5 months and his only saving grace will be a summer reflection sitting at home and new manager to play for next season.
He was born in Nottingham, a long way from Wales.

first one over the line 2 to go , in my eyes good signing and think he maybe available for sunday ,

P.S hope he plays as well as his dad Andy lol
Not singling you out or ridiculing you mate .
We can safely say he ain't playing like his dad ... yet 😄

Yeah, he just seems lost at the moment. I can't work out if he's a good top flight player who has struggled to adapt to a sudden, presumably unexpected exit from a big club to a smaller one who play a different way, or if he's actually a poor top flight player who was massively overvalued and has been found out.

You'd think that if it was the former, the change to play for Wales would be the perfect escape. But yet, no.

Hopefully a new manager that puts an arm round his shoulder, shows belief in him, a good preseason behind him and a fresh start next season and we'll start to see the best of him.
He needs a boost in confidence. There is no question of his talent

Terry Mancini before his debut for Ireland as the anthems were being played.
"Fvck me, this one goes on a bit"
"This is ours"
He also met Muhammad Ali on a TV show who had a pop about bald men playing football.
He replied, "Henry Cooper was bald and he knocked you down".

The positives insofar as signing Johnson is concerned seem, to me, to be limited to what an American politician might perhaps call 'non-negatives'.

Although he has played a lot, the team hasn't become totally derailed by accommodating him (does happen, see Asprila at Newcastle). Also, we haven't collapsed into serious relegation trouble. Again, can happen. A broken spoke in any wheel can cause the bike to wobble!

Basically, his arrival hasn't cost us anything apart from money. Lots of money. Loads by our standards. Still, some signings sink the ship and that's not the case here. Even if he never comes good, he hasn't ruined us!

In terms of reasons to be cheerful, there is no obvious reason to think the boy has a poor attitude. If anything, I'd like him to be a bit more of a kent, as good forwards can sometimes be a bit bolshy. Anyway, it's not like there's any reason to think he's not bothered. That shouldn't be noteworthy, but it's not something to take for granted with expensive footballers.

On top of that, he's scored goals before. It's not like he can't do it.

We play a very particular system, which doesn't seem the same as the ones he's played in before. He might be struggling with that.

He's still young. Whatever he wants for himself, it's in his interests to do well at palace. And ours. He isn't a Benteke or Sakho in that respect, he's not playing in the knowledge of a very narrow and limited future. If he comes good he's got time to go back up to the very top, and we could make money on him.

That said, Christ on a f***ing bike he's been absolute s***. As things stand he's surely in the conversation for worst signing in our history. Benteke would at least sometimes score.

It started like a love story and ended like misery 🤔🤣
