US Politics

The USA, seemngly ruled by a tiny rogue state Israel, has no actual friends left, wheeling out the 'special relationship' to which I submit the general public does not currently approve of and certainly never been asked.

To see them wriggling and writhing in avoidance of their war crimes guilt is quite an education.

Do I want a relationship with sick people who de-capitate religious leaders and their families, bomb innocent citizens going about their daily life, destroy schoolchildren's lives I can't remember anything so bad.

You can shove the USA where the sun doesn't shine.

😎

Bombing a school, threatening to destroy civilian infrastructure and, most disgracefully, threatening to wipe out a civilisation. That’s threatening ethnic cleansing.

There is no bomb strike on the school. There's blast damage which doesn't match the blast position from the strikes indicating a secondary explosion by Iran.

Threats aren't war crimes.

Next.

Iran is the type of sun doesn't shine place you describe. s*** country.

I don't know why (probably spend too long on internet), but James Vance just has the face of a madman. Every photograph of him seems to be slightly Satanic-looking. Ever since his welcome to Zelensky, I have just found him to be unsuited to diplomacy. Maybe he is having too much influence over Trump ? I always thought Vance was being groomed as a potential successor. I think he'd be totally volatile given complete power.

More often not the Deputy becomes the Sheriff, not often it is the Secretary of State depends wether the Deputy bollses things up.

Under the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols, it is prohibited to target, or threaten to target, objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population, such as:

Power plants and energy networks

Water treatment facilities and sanitation systems

Hospitals and healthcare infrastructure

Bridges and transportation infrastructure (unless used for direct military purposes)

So the USA, by destroying bridges and issuing threats to destroy power plants and energy networks stand in breach of the Conventions.

The reports I have read contradict your account of the damage and loss of life at the school.

So the Dambusters of WW2, and the nuclear strikes on Japan were war crimes. /

I cannot see any comments at all anywhere here on this week’s State Visit. It might be a strange thing to talk about our King in the US politics thread but what he had to say matters.

The general opinion seems to be he played a blinder. Clearly criticising Trump’s policies but diplomaticly and without any opportunity for offence to be taken.

Getting standing ovations from everyone, uniting both sides of the political divide in shared values could just provide some backbone to the growing sense of resistance.

I am not a great Charles fan but credit where it’s due. He did well. If he prepared the speeches himself he did even better but the delivery was very skilful.
I thought Charles was pretty good. And to be quite honest I've never really liked him. However, it's not that hard to be more educated than Americans in general. He ran rings around them with his rhetoric. I wondered if it was a bit showy for a King. But life moves on doesn't it and even British Royalty changes. We can be pretty sure the late Queen would not have done it. I enjoyed it.

Good old trump sticking it up the unelected leaders.
Look into the Mercasour deal and you'll see exactly why it's being done. We're getting cheap, s*** meat from South America and they get German cars. What a wonderful deal for me and my family in Ireland. Thanks EU.

Fiona Hill may not be a well known name but she has a unique experience which provides a well informed perspective on what is happening in the USA. She is British but worked for Trump in his first administration as an advisor on Russia. She was a co- author of our recent defence review. She is currently doing the interview circuit sounding warnings. What she has to say is both interesting and important. This one is by the “News Agents USA”, the podcast produced by Emily Maitlis and Jon Sopel:-

Those with a genuine interest in, and concern about, the USA are recommended to watch it.

I'm against this woke Monarchy.

But I was very impressed by the King here.

He obviously doesn't like Trump but he did his duty and it was impressive.

Once again I am not your granddad. Something I am both confident and pleased about.

The difference between this podcast and yours is that this features someone with genuine inside knowledge. Not self opinionated, self important non experts with agendas.

You might just learn something important by watching it. I certainly could not by watching yours. I get all those opinions here, ad nauseam.

Mmmm....thank god for that if what you've told us is to be believed.

Dark.

As you don't watch anything other than your waffle you are just talking out your posterior as usual.

Also, unlike you with our stuff, I've actually sat through a couple of episodes of Newsgents, before when it has involved people I'm interested in.

So your description is about as believable as what you'd expect from an ex marketing manager......purveyors of warm up bullsh1t.

How on earth do you think you know what I watch? What completely arrogant nonsense. That’s a new low, even for you and it has serious competition.

So you aren’t interested in what Fiona Hill has to say? That says a great deal about you! It marks you out as a self righteous fool!

Even those who fundamentally disagree with her assessments are interested to know what they are, because she is an informed insider.

I’ll ignore your personal insults. All they do is add further evidence in support of my assertions of your ignorance.
